We are not forcefully attaching ourselves to ikwerres , but ikwerres are attaching themselves to us Igbo's , they are speaking our language , answering Igbo names and practicing Igbo culture and tradition , every ethnic group has a unique language , culture and tradion, ikwerres can't be living as Igbo's and claim to be a different ethnic group, I guess you don't really know what an ethnic group is

Ikwerres speak their Ikwerre language with different dialects on it's own. This language may be very similar to Igbo but each tribe own it's own language.

Spanish and Portuguese are partially mutually intelligible.

Isoko and Urhobo languages are mutually intelligible.

Bros you didn't get right again.

1) Every tribe is the owner of it's language and Culture. Whether they borrowed it or it evolve from their ancestral tribes is another matter.

2) If Ikwerres speak their language and practice their culture. If both look very similar to the culture and the cultural practices of the Igbos, it simply shows that both tribes may actually descended from the same parents or they are related.
It's impossible to determine which tribe/culture came first.
And what if it's the Igbos that borrowed the language from the Ikwerres and modified it to become the Igbos we now know?


3) Almost all tribes in Southern Nigeria are related and their languages is actually a spectrum of languages which keep changing as you move from one end to the other end of the spectrum.

If you start from Ilaro close to the Western border and keep moving eastwards, you will see that the languages are similar but keep metamorphosing until it becomes Igbo around the River Niger.
