Mindset you said, most Nigerians have the positive thinking philosophy towards wealth, but achieving the goal is hard.
they have the philosophy. But the mindset that the goal is hard, is what is drawing them back. Mindset is what the church goers would call faith. Let me not bore you with much details. If you are a church goer and you know what faith can do then mindset can do more

Nice thoughts you've got there.

But I'd rather you use the term LIABILITIES rather than depreciating assets.

Reason why?

Of course, depreciating assets are still ASSETS... or don't you think so? wink

Very untrue especially the no 5 point ...
So who buys the expensive phones , who lives in mansion ? Who have houses all over the world ?
Who lodge in 5 star hotels ? Who buy most expensive cars ? We can go on and on
Truth is ...lifestyle varies ..but the difference between rich and poor are not what you wrote here
The difference is in choices ..the rich are rich because they can see opportunities and take the advantage whilst the poor don't.
The rich know how to make money and multiply it .simple !
The poor can't even afford the lifestyle of the rich ....
Anyone that could buy clothes worth 4m or above is not poor. Anyone buying a phone of 500k or more is not poor

No lies... Most Graduates should think of using their idea and knowledge to create job and not just wait for people with ideas to employ them

The solution to not being broke is to have a skill, services or product and have a very good marketing plan Including radio jingle, newspaper advert, posters and Social media that can get you out there

As a Computer Scientist, advertise your programing skills to people online and ofline, people need softwares, app and websites, offices need a tech guy to call and sort networking issues you just have to advertise

As a Mass Comm graduate start a blog and a news website, create a social media page or simply continue making thread on Nairaland putting your contacts

As Philosopher, write a book on a percuilar subject you have researched about Nigeria, religion , culture or tradition using what skills you have learnt

As an Accountant advertise your services online and ofline to small businesses needing book keeping solution and audit for tax clearance and loan aplication, you can also meet a programmer for you to write an accounting app or website that offer accounting solution

As an Agronomist, Fishery or Agriculture Graduate... study Fish Farming, study crop planting and write a very powerfull business plan, after that start marketing yourself for people to consult you in setting up a farm

Animal Scientist and Vet Graduate should advertise around farms , ranches poultry for consultancy ETC and start breeding Dogs for sale

Above all have a trade skill as back up, you can get that from learning through many free platforms from churches and government

I am not broke, but a lot of Nigeria youths are broke because opportunity abounds less in this nation, the value of human labor is so poor, the recompense for labor is so competitive, that people take home can barely take them anywhere, a lot of ideas but no support system to help the youths, I have a brother who stayed broke in naija for years, but immediately he migrated to a caring and sane society like Australia, he is constantly boxed up and has alot of investment here to shoe for it, a society that enforces equality promotes labor rights, have a well structured wage pattern and income level, where millions are not poor at the expense of a few corrupt individuals, where the govermnent puts the interst of its people first genuinely, where you don't need to work as an elephant and eat as a ant, except for just a few privileged ones in this country, most people are broke due to reasons beyond immediate control, but last last just keep hustling, you might be lucky, and get a big break

In Summary.. your mind is the engine, The decisions u make is the fuel that would either power the engine through the destination to a Life u dream of..

Please here is an illustration below and please using Lagos and Akwaibom is just an illustration not that I mean u re in Lagos going to Akwa Ibom :

You are in Lagos YOUR PRESENT SITUATION) and your destination is Akwa Ibom (THE LUXURY KIND OF LIFE YOU WANT TO LIVE) ,Ur Life is the Car, Your mind is the engine, your decisions is the fuel that would power the engine which is your life to your destination. if u buy just 2 litres of fuel (POOR DECISIONS) It can never take your car (YOUR LIFE) to reach your destination Akwa Ibom (THE LUXURY KIND OF LIFE U WANT TO LIVE)

everything centered on my mind decision.... here's the thing if, my mind is made up that 2litres of fuel will take me from lagos to akwa-ibom surely, i'll get to my destination it only going to be a matter of time.

One reason there are so many broke people is because the rich have refused to educate how they made it.

Only sensible comment here

Riches is in the Hands of 1℅ of most societies

If they don't let u in , u can only at best be average income earner but not rich

The Rich created money
Money belongs to them so as far as society still operates money system (unlike trade by Bater in the old days) only those they give money would have it

If u want to be rich simply follow the Rich and hope they bring u in and show u the way

To be honest
To be "Really" rich (which is the 'true' rich) you must be prepared to do Evil
