These northerners have no regard for other region. All they always have in mind is to conquer other territories and subjugate them to their myopic way of doing things. With the way they kept crying up and down because of this Amotekun, it's obvious they have a sinister plan of controlling everything in the country without anyone trying to look them in the face.

Think it's high time we started putting these people where they belong. We are not slave to anybody.

Amoteks will stay if only the founders do not let known, traitors, criminals, troublemakers to be speaking for them
Up to the point of Cownu promising Amoteks 1 million members.
Which sane Government will support that?

Anything that FFK and Cownu come out to support will always end in failure.
This has happened many times prior now.

They should say no to charlatans who are only good in supporting evil.

better set up something similar before edo is fully infiltrated by herdsmen and criminals. My experience last Thursday along Benin bypass expressway wasnt a palatable one. Our vehicle had to stop and joined 100s of other parked vehicles because nobody could near them. There was a police checkpoint a few miles away but they couldn't near these criminals. I urge you put politics aside because your region is fast becoming the north east. Last month, professor adesiyan ( a professor of paediatrics) was killed by the same herdsmen on his way back from Ambrose Ali university to oauthc where he went to supervise in a medical exam. We only heard of his case because he was an eminent personnel. How about the common man falling victims daily ?

Police is aiding kidnappings...

How can police ask victims of kidnap or families of victims to pay ransom to them before rescue mission?

Federal police has failed... I think regional or state police is the answer.. I know federal government is hiding something else they should support state police to states that can afford it

If amotekun must go then hisbah and sharia police must also be disbanded; I can’t see why the initiative of six governments to protect their people from insecurity is illegal, when the same thing was established in the north. Only ignorant and wicked people can call such initiative illegal.
Until the northerners can explain why they have hisbah and sharia police up in the north, since they have “so much faith in the Nigerian police force “, then they have no logical standpoint.

When the fg can not cater efficiently and effectively for National security, it is not unconstitutional or wrong to support it approved local security. This is done every where in the world even in America there are both private and public security outfit working with the police and other major government security outfits.

To say a region shud the expose itself to bandits and criminals of unknown origin is what is unconstitutional and evil.

The North shud come clear with what is disturbing them about Amotekun

Exactly. And how do u intend to reduce the stealing when the governor controls all the apparatus of state with zero checks from federal. No efcc, no icpc, no national assembly.

Nigeria is not ripe for true federalism. Especially the people that are always eager to be used for manipulation
Re: Amotekun Is Unconstitutional - Maigari Dingyadi, Police Affairs Minister by akdjr(m): 1:14pm On Jan 19, 2020
This is not about Religion or what have you. The Minister just reinstated that the motive behind the formation of Amotekun is good but it is unconstitutional to have a regional security outfit. Imagine if Amotekun arrest an Ibo man or an Hausa man and detained the person meanwhile Agberos that are breaking the laws and order daily will continue doing what they are known for. Don't you know that is going to cause a major crises in the country. To me,the decision was not well thought off. Amotekun could have seen the light of the day without FG interference if it was not tagged a regional security after all states across the country has neighborhood security.
DonFreshmoney:
This Amotekun hullabaloo cry is a setup from the north... When there were forming their sharia police and hisbah, no southern person made a contribution.. it sounded normal for hisbah to destroy alcohol bottles that their state government are collecting taxes on..

Amotekun is here to stay. I pray all the state house of assemblies pass the bill quicky to recognize the operation. If this case goes to court and with the sharia man heading the Supreme court, there is 80% probability he would say it's illegal.

If they need any regional security, they should first of all push for constitutional amendment where security will be shifted to regions infact full restructuring.

So let them follow the right step and push for restructuring through constitutional amendment and insertion of referendum in the constitution.

If not so, then Amotekun is a nuisance and must be treated as such.

What was the constitutional amendment that brought about the establishment of the Hisbah police in the north?

When the various states in the north were establishing Hisbah do they include Christians? You must be slowpoke and don't have sense at all for referring to Amotekun as religious security. However, are you from South West? What is your business, you think South West are religious byegot like hausa-fulani who take ocultic culture of Arabs and put on their head like theirs when the Arabs regard black Muslims as dogs and slave to Arabs without inheritance in there after.

But by the way, who is this uninformed so-called minister?

Mediocrity and lies are just amongst the most common undoings of this government.

So, to Mr. Minister, DEFENCE = SECURITY?

Na wah o!

Same!

Anyways, if Mr. Minister cares to know, it is DEFENCE that is in the EXCLUSIVE LIST not SECURITY, SECURITY is in the CONCURRENT LIST.

Meanwhile, DEFENCE comprises the military viz: the Army, the Air force and the Navy.

Security comprise the Police and other paramilitary security outfits (including AMOTEKUN) and they all are in the concurrent list.

I don't have to be a lawyer to know this simple thing.

Well said!

Racoon:
The Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, says the intentions of South-West governors for establishing Amotekun are good but the constitution bestowed the responsibility of national security on the Federal Government.
All of them always talking rubbish because they have a secret agenda to subjugate others to their perpetual control and dominion.Kolework! Abeg hear the same FG saddled with the so called responsibility of providing security which its has failed woefully;
