One might not agree with the judgement of the supreme court which is quite understandable but when
I read a lot of comments about valid votes more than accredited votes and I then wonder if we really think at all. Most of us just ignorantly follow the bandwagon or we already know but simply chose to sound foolish.
Alright INEC simply didn't did not take into cognisance both the accredited votes and valid votes of those 388 polling units. With those units results now added by the supreme court both the accredited votes and valid vote will automatically increase. What is difficult there to understand?
The fact that persons I thought were intelligent say these crap of valid votes more than accredited votes baffles me.
Na wa oooo

According to you the elections in the 388 units were marred by irregularities and INEC cancelled them. IF INEC CANCELLED THESE UNITS, THE RESULTS FROM THESE UNITS SHOULD HAVE BEEN CAPTURED UNDER CANCELLED VOTES!!!. This is different from what INEC is saying, INEC claims elections didn’t hold in the 388 Units, so there are No results from those Units!

If you’ve been involved in elections you should know there’s something called an incidence form. If elections were disrupted in these units, there would have been an incidence form to prove this.

Based on the norm, the next day, INEC would have conducted fresh elections in these units like it was done in Osun and Rivers States, but No, INEC in its wisdom went ahead to collate and announce a winner without results from 388 Units, which is about 12% of the entire state, and without any justification? INEC should be held responsible for everything wrong in IMO!

Most of you commenting here have no first hand knowledge of elections in Nigeria, all I see is ignorance displayed in full confidence.

I like the fact that you admitted that the solution from beginning ought to have being a rerun. So why then didnt the supreme court order for a rerun in those areas instead of admitting and collating the figures thereby making total number of votes in an election higher than the total number of accredited voters?

FYI those votes where never cancelled. INEC acted like the election in those polling units never happened. That might be true. But HOPE came with results INEC never had

Because HOPE was able to prove that elections took place in those polling units. We should stop blaming the supreme court. The blame lies squarely on INEC. Their level of incompetence in IMO election was next to none. Even declaring Ihedioha winner in the first place was without meeting the 25% in 2/3 local government areas was evident

If you read and understood what I wrote you won’t be asking this.

Let me help you, the results for the Imo Election as declared by INEC was from about 3000 polling units, without votes from 388 Units, meaning No result sheets from all the 388 Units Hope claimed he won were included in the collation process. According to him, they were EXCLUDED during collation at the ward collation centres. If INEC had accepted the results first, before cancelling it, the results from these 388 units would have appeared under cancelled votes. But this was not the case. INEC didn’t accept it!

For all the 388 Units, Accredited Votes = 0; Total Votes Cast = 0. In the last election, Accreditation and Voting took place same time.

For example, let’s assume you wrote WAEC and you’re expected to write 9 papers. The results are out and WAEC claims you wrote only 5 papers, went ahead to produce a certificate for you saying you sat for only 5 papers. In the same certificate you passed 3 and failed 2. They claim the other 4 you cheated or were absent and yet WAEC couldn’t prove this. You took your school and WAEC to court, showed evidence that the remaining 4 papers, you indeed sat for them, but no reason was given by WAEC for the omission. If the 4 papers are marked and you passed 3, and failed 1, will the total number of papers you passed and failed remain static?

This is similar to the case of accredited and total votes in Imo!

Read the judgment. It is sound in law and logic. Very sound. Ihedioha‘a Lawyers are not infallible. They alleged Uzodinma results were forged and didn’t prove it. INEC said it had the genuine results results but never presented them in Court. Issues were joined on the exclusion of Uzodinma results and shown by the production of Forms EC8A and B. Issues were not joined on whether elections held at the places from where the excluded results emanated therefore there was no need to call all the polling agents as the Supreme Court had laid down previously. It was sufficient for the policeman who did to tender the results in the light of the dissenting judgment of the lower court. Good job.

i said this before.
The Documents tendered were original duplicate copies of INEC issued Forms, filled and signed by INEC official representative at the Polling Units concern. The Coalition Officers looking at the figures strongly believed the figures were cooked and allocated, then, using personally intuition and judgment, cancel the results of APC from 388 polling units.
Hope went to court to challenge that the cancellation has no legal backing, instead of PDP to counter the application and show evidence that the votes allocated to APC were fraudulent, they did not even challenge the petition at all. The Supreme Court holds that the fraudulent
votes were illegally cancelled and there was no single evidence to show it was fraudulently allocated.
Personally, I believed the votes were fraudulent and on moral grounds should be cancelled as done by the INEC coalition center. Unfortunately, the court will and never rule base on morality but on the letters of the Law. So, morally, the cancellation was correct but wrong legally.
To those people blaming Supreme Court, they should know that legality is different from morality. It is just like a rape cases, it must be proved beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime was actually committed and the responsibility to proved rest on every party except the accused. In this case, the provision of evidence rest solely on PDP and her candidates and not INEC. The role of INEC in any election matters is to provide evidences at their care and testify in election matter and not to prove that the elections was fairly or fraudulently conducted.
PDP failed woefully in their defence, they should learn their lesson and move on.

Exactly, the Ihedioha’s legal team and the PDP legal team focused on the appeal by Uche Nwosu and AA, and paid little attention to the appeal by Hope Uzodinma and APC, maybe because he was placed 4th, what can a man placed 4th do, they thought!.

They even sponsored Ikenga Ugochinyere, CUPP and co to challenge Uche Nwosu’s nomination with the hope that once Uche Nwosu’s candidacy was declared null and void, there’ll be no need to get the required 25% in 18LGAs.

Listen to the rubbish from the NO IQ IPOB miscreant. Does it make any sense to you that the people of these states were denied the option of electing their own leaders instead of the court to impose pdp leaders on them? Have you ever heard anywhere in the world where people are not allowed to elect from which party they want? Chaiiiii!!!!! All these educated illiterates we have in this country, chaiii!!! See what quota system is causing. Now let me teach you a little kid.

The court only cancelled the primaries as prayed by members of APC who felt they were cheated, and who felt due process was not followed in the APC primaries.

Empty brain, I ask you, are there no other political parties aside APC in this country? You see how you have just exposed your foolishness.

The courts only granted prayers by aggrieved APC members because they did not put their house in order. It is purely and entirely an APC issue.

Other political parties aside APC contested and the people made their choice.

Some crazy elections and court results has come and go and none generate much tension like dis Imo results because all dos judgements are numerically possible even the zamfara state case where all APC were sacked for PDP make sense because it was proved APC didnt conduct primaries which is a valid reason. However, this Imo decision does not make sense numerically, how den do u expect people to accept it. The sad part is dat the supreme court are setting a precedent in which oda future cases will follow. This results need to be rejected completely otherwise this is d beginning of an era where numbers dont even need to add up. I know APC think this is dere time but no power is stagnant, other parties will come and go but precedents stays. All this results need to be rejected by all, or very soon INEC officials will be held at gun point and be forced to write stupid numbers. Since numbers will no longer matters nor does it need to align.
And if the supreme court even tink uzodimma av a valid case, i blive supreme court after tallying up d total and seeing d results pass accredited voters, dey should av declare a rerun election rather dan dere judgement
when you talk about the accredited voters, do you also consider those accredited in the 388 polling units that was challenged at the court? Or was it on record that the accredited voters as initially released by inec also include those of the cancelled 388 PU?

This is my opinion;

Inec not Supreme court gave Hope the victory.

Let's assume that the elections in the 388 polling units were marred by irregularities and also If the number of registered voters in the said units is sufficient enough to make someone in the 4th position becomes winner, then Inec was suppose to declare the election inconclusive. Meaning no winner was supposed to have been announced initially.

For declaring former Gov. winner, it means Inec concluded to disenfranchised the voters in the 388 polling units. When you look closely, those units might be Hope's stronghold.

Had it been the election was declared inconclusive considering the number of registered voters in the said units, then the worst former Gov. Would have done is to go to court to declare him winner while Hope will be ready for the conduct of election in the units.

Supreme court did the right thing by not ordering for rerun after Inec had illegally declared former Gov the winner.

And I guess PDP is also part of the script that is why they couldn't present any tangible evidence to counter Hope uzodimma. If not that you have sold your brain to PDP, you should have asked that since there was election in those unit, why is PDP not even talking about their vote from those areas? Because if there was no election, PDP wouldn't have tell ozodima that he was supposed to call agent from each unit, more so PDP wouldn't have been quiet over cancelation of the the result if that was the case
