When mothers sleep the children slip.

The two of them lived together in the same house, doing the same business. Somehow, they became pregnant at the same time and delivered days apart.

Ms X gave birth to a son, and the third day after, Ms D was also delivered of a son. They were both happy to be mothers. They celebrated motherhood while very much ignorant of its core value.

It happened that fateful night.

They both went to bed just like any other day without having an inkling of the evil lurking in the dark.

The evil of the night first visited Ms D, who was at this time fast asleep. She slept so deep that she didn’t know she had slept over her child. The child yelled, trying as much as possible to survive, but Ms D was deeply asleep.

Ms X, who slept in the same room, should have heard Ms D’s baby crying for his dear life, but not when she was also dead asleep. Ms X was cold to whatever was happening to Ms D and her dying child.

With both mothers in the house fully asleep, the child gave up the ghost.

By the time Ms D came around from her sleep, she discovered she had killed her son by sleeping on him. But because it was still in the night, an evil thought crept into her mind.

She rose and approached the bedside of Ms X. Before you knew it, she had exchanged her dead child with the living child of Ms X.

Guess what!

Ms X, snoring loud, did not know that her bundle of joy was being exchanged. She was not only cold to what was going on in the house, but she was also, sadly, insensitive to what was going on beside her.

Her son probably gave a sound of resistance as he was being taken from her, but she was too deep in her sleep.

By the time she woke up, the night had taken something valuable from her. She discovered that the child beside her was dead.

Although she initially thought the dead child was hers, as the day became clearer, she realised the dead child was not hers. She concluded right that an exchange had taken place, and she fought back to rectify her errors.

My focus is not on King Solomon’s wise judgment over this matter, but on the negative effects of having mothers sleeping.

Am I saying that mothers should no longer sleep after working so hard during the day? Sure, they should. But…

Both mothers, in a sense, lost their sons as they slept. One killed her son by sleeping over him, while the other mother had her son exchanged while she slept. Ask me and I will say both mothers lost their sons to sleep.

When mothers sleep, terrible things occur. When mothers sleep, it is either a son is killed or a son is exchanged. When mothers sleep, destinies are killed or exchanged. When mothers sleep, their children suffer for it.

When mothers sleep, the sound of the suffocating child cannot be heard. When mothers sleep, they cannot hear the crying of the child being stolen. When mothers sleep, they do not hear the wailing of their children in danger.

When mothers sleep, they cannot alert one another of the danger lurking in the dark. How I wish Ms X was awake to prevent Ms D from sleeping over her child. She would have saved the situation, but unfortunately, both mothers slept.

By the time sleeping mothers wake up, a child is either dead or exchanged. By the time it is morning, it is mourning time for sleeping mothers; for a child is lying dead and another substituted.

Awake all ye mothers!

Let us save our children from death. Let us stay alert to stop the exchange of our lovely children. The world must not continue to kill and exchange our children right beside us while we sleep.

These children sleep beside us, yet due to our excessive sleeping, we lose them daily. We wake up to see that the night (darkness) had done something bad while we slept. There is so much evil going on in the dark when mothers sleep.

I charge true mothers to sleep no more, for every spiritual sleep will always end up a bad omen. When mothers sleep spiritually, the children bear the consequences. But of course, when the children are no more or exchanged, the pains fall back on the mothers.

Children become vulnerable when they are with sleeping mothers. And when mothers sleep, the children, who can be given to sleep, slip away.

Awake all ye true mothers! Let not your sleep cause you a slip. We declare that our children shall no longer slip away, as we put an end to our careless sleep, either in the realm of the spiritual or physical.

And like Ms X took her matter before the king to have her exchanged child back, so shall all mothers who are now fully awake approach the KING of kings to reclaim their lost children.

One thing is sure, if Solomon judged wisely to restore the living child to his mother, a greater than Solomon is our LORD JESUS, He shall judge wisely in your favour.

So shall it be!

(Inspired by the story of the two harlots before King Solomon in 1 Kings 3:16-28).
