You are the one taking panadol for the SE and hijacking their identity, their history and destiny.

They've asserted forcefully so many time that they are not SE, that they are not ibo, that they are not in any way aligned with ibo people and definitely don't want biafra? How hard is this to get into your head?

Only people with low self-esteem, insecurity and a sense of identity force themselves on other people.

Okay
We have agreed, they are not South East, they are not Igbo, they don't want Biafra and they don't aligned with the Igbos,
The Igbos will benefit from the Seaport in South South because it's closer than the West.

I don't know if you Westerners have those attributes you mentioned.

I no understand una o

There ibo people and ibo settlements in every state in Nigeria, but that doesn't make them SE region.

Do better with your lame analogy.

We are talking about the SS, not about ibo or some sadistic bloodthirsty coup plotters.

Start your own different topic tp discuss coup plotters and killers.

Go and read the statement of your people on newspaper about the development

Yoruba's are not my people, but any Yoruba that object to this project is a fool.

The earlier this is achieved, the better. It will impact positively on nearby communities and ultimately progressive development all round.

Goods may be cheaper since the additional cost of transportation from Lagos with it’s attendant risk will be removed. It will create massive employment, reduce the cost of doing business and reduce rural-urban migration.

On the flip side, the traffic situation in Lagos will improve. There’ll also be less pollution from tanker/ trailer emissions. Owo mi da guys will probably find other things to do.

Win win for everyone. smiley

The current National Inland Waterways Authority George Moghalu who is also from Anambra has assured business community in the east that Onitsha port will be operational in his tenure, Onitsha port is ready, most of you will commit suicide the day it will be operational.

Ex President Jonathan has concessioned the ports to the private sector for efficient management, just like PHCN was handed over the private sector.

It's these concessionaires that determine charges in their ports and these varies from ports to ports.

olisaEze:
Nice one from the beautiful Hadiza Bala. It’s now over to the governors of those states to strive for world class facilities and roads so they can attract more shippers to their ports. The FG should also think of harmonizing the shipping tariffs to make them as competitive as the Lagos ports.

PS: Reading comments here, I wonder how everything gets turned into tribal mudslinging and bashing. It’s like some people can’t see beyond their local upbringing? Na waoh! undecided
Re: Eastern Ports Revival: How NPA, Hull Blyth, Maersk, Others Are Pulling Through by oyatz(m): 5:40am On Jan 28, 2020
Point of correction, the FG and not Lagos State get taxes from the ports.

If these Eastern ports become fully operational, it will be a great relief for Lagos because it will help in reducing the negative effects of mass influx of people to the State.

President2031:

Thank you for your understanding and please pass the information to other of your Igbo brothers.

We Niger deltans are happy that the Port will be of advantage to the South South and South East.

It will help the South South generate more revenue and employment for us while the Igbo importers take advantage of the easy import instead of going to lagos while they pay their tax.

Biafrarep:
It baffles me how they keep marginalizing the East in virtually every means possible yet still wonder why agitation for Biafra is popular among the people. The truth is that Igbos would want to remain in Nigeria if there is fairness to all. Even the yorubas that keep criticizing the Igbos for wanting to break up Nigeria would have done worse if they are marginalized the same way Igbos have been marginalized since the end of the civil war.
It is evil when you desire the status qou to remain simply because you are gaining from another man's misfortune.
Live and let live is a just axiom!

Prepare for those that will dig your grave, because Onitsha port will be operational soon.
Onitsha port has always been operational.

Before 1964, Onitsha port was very busy because there was no bridge linking the Southeast to the Mid-Western Region and then to the Western Region. Then movements of passengers and goods had to pass through the Onitsha port.
