True commitment comes from loyalty. Whether it be in work, business, family, friendship or a relationship, commitment can not be formed without loyalty.

Loyalty is a quality that should always be at the top of your priority list. You should never have to lower your expectations on any account. Loyalty in romantic relationships is all about being able to trust your partner that no matter the distance between you two or the amount of time spent away, they’re never going to do anything to jeopardize your trust.

Being loyal in a relationship means never taking your partner’s trust for granted. When you give people respect and reassurance that they can trust you no matter what and you are able to substantiate it with your actions, you are being exactly what every other person should aspire to be. It helps your partner feel at ease when you’re away from each other and makes for a safe, comfortable environment that holds no place for second-guessing. One act of disloyalty can break everything that you have built. If you think the little white lies you say are not a form of disloyalty, think again. Loyalty is not only about cheating on your partner. If you form an emotional bond with someone else, without being intimate, that counts as being unfaithful.

This is also why we must carefully choose our partners. If you choose to pursue a monogamous relationship, you must wake up every day and CHOOSE to be with that person. Not because you have too but because you LOVE them.
