Please Advice Me!!! Jogging Pros by sampete(m): 7:46am On Feb 09, 2020
I started jogging last year after quitting for more than 4 years. I have been having pains around my kneecap and my legs in general after jogging, and most times I can't stand on my legs the next day. I have had to stop to recuperate then continue, the pain continues. I have even had to build endurance, hoping the pains would go if I continue jogging everyday, it only got worst. Now I jog only on Saturdays and I still tend to feel pains around my legs and knee the next Saturday.

I would really love to go jogging at least 4 times in a week. Please guys what do I do?

Please I will like to know if there are drugs I can take for the pain or for quick relief?

Also are there any food supplements I can take to strengthened my bones?

Have you gone for a medical check up prior to resuming your jogging? Your health condition 4 years ago may not be the same this year. Don't end up as part of the statistics. Start small and gradually increase your distance or better still register with a gym and use treadmill instead. Jogging affects the joints and bones if you're over weight.

No, I haven't gone for a medical checkup. Haven't had the need to. I have enjoyed excellent health for years, not even an headache. Thanks To God's grace.

I started small last year. Now I can jog up to 5km

And how do I know if I'm using the wrong/right running shoes?. I feel comfortable in the one I'm using. And I'm not overweight, just a regular average dude.

Have you had your blood pressured and heartbeat rate checked? Very important to know that when you jog or do strenuous exercises, your heart pumps faster than normal and if you have any underlying health issues, it aggravates it. You will never know all of these if you've not gone for a checkup undecided

Must u kill urself to stay fit? Ur body is telling u "no" and u are forcing it. What happened to other forms of exercise? How about cycling? Try cycling and u won't think of jogging again. Wholistic and fun-filled.

Why did you stop jogging initially?
Was there an injury at the time?

Also, you suppose know na, say if you never do these things for a long time, you go feel pain.
Keep jogging. The pain go stop.

By the way, is it the knee only? What about other places?

Had to stop jogging due to a change of location and the nature of my job, and no, there was no injury at the time.

The pains is mostly from my knees down to my Tibia and Fibula Bones.

Thanks for the encouragement, but I have had to stop jogging again as the pain doesn't seem to be going away.

How's the jog?
Still not as frequent as I would like because of the pains. Now I go jogging once a week.

Thanks for asking.

Once a week even in the lockdown?

When last did you experience the pain?

Yeah, even with the lockdown. The pain is always there when I go jogging concurrently each day. It's lesser if it's once a week. I can live with that.

All right, bro.

Apparently it's an internal problem that might need an xray scan or something.

You're probably having signs of early osteoarthritis.
I will advise you stop jogging and do brisk walk instead.
