Shehu Sani, a former Senator, has opined why President Muhammadu Buhari shouldn’t take all the blame for the recent spike of insecurity across the country.

Criminal activities ranging from kidnappings, banditry, killings among others has recently been on the rise.

Critics are quickly to blame the president for failing in that aspect. Some geo-political zones resorted to self-help by setting up regional security outfits to safeguard their domain.

For the former representative of Kaduna Central during the last Senate, the president shouldn’t take all the blame.

Mr Sani said this is because other leaders in the country who are privileged to have met the president has refused to tell the Nigerian leader the true situation on ground.

“We shouldn’t all blame the President for the deterioration of the security situation in the North and the escalation of Banditry and Kidnappings, because those leaders privileged to meet him are afraid of telling him the truth that hurts,” the former lawmaker said in a Facebook post on Sunday.

In the South-West, the state governors from the region launched a security outfit codenamed Amotekun while youths from the North unveiled theirs as Shege Ka Fasa.

The latter is yet to earn the support of Northern state governors.

I disagree. The du.ll.ard gets weekly briefings from his national security adviser so he can't blame anyone else, including former heads of state, for his failure to respond to the country's security challenges.
After all when Gowon said last year that the army was assisting Fulani Herdsmen to commit atrocities in Plateau state did bubu listen to him?

Sheu Sani may not be far from the truth.

The people surrounding the President, including the service chiefs only tells him what he want to hear and that is why he was taken aback by the increasing insecurity.

The buck stops at his table

If he has surrounded himself with sycophants who won't tell him the truth, it is because he doesn't want to hear the truth.

Simple.

If he is the kind of person that loves to hear the truth, people will not be afraid to tell him the truth.
Those around him know who he is, someone who hates the truth especially when it doesn't favor him, so they would rather lie to him in other to be in his good books

So you think saying buhari surrounded himself with sychophants is complimentary?

You think Sani doesn't know buhari watches TV and reads newspaper and infact, reads the cartoons first before the news?

So even his wife and children don't tell him what's going on out there?

You are just an Islamic saddist like buhari.

I am sure you don't really want your rhetorical questions answered so my advise to you is to simply endure until 2023 and no die from hbp. kiss

Shehu Sani is wrong on this. Any leader that doesn't know how to acquire information and depends on only his appointees that have access to him is a failed individual and leader.
Such an idiot should never have been handed the reins of power in the first place cos he'll most certainly turn out to be an unmitigated disaster. Unfortunately, the masses pay the ultimate price daily.

This is a typical case of grasping at straws to stay afloat! You are actually celebrating that someone has categorically classed the president as too much of an idiot to keep abreast of current occurrences beyond what information he's fed.
Then the same Buhari the unaware comes out to tell you he is surprised at rising levels of insecurity and you hail him?! Not every statement is defense of the President.
