Angelfrost:The Europeans knew exactly what they were doing. It was divide and rule. Joining diverse people together means they will never have unity and can be played against each other. Your granddad assumed that the Europeans had the interest of black people at heart. But they didn't. They wanted easy domination and exploitation. 1 Like |

Why the sudden attacks on Lord Lugard of recent? You people should leave him to Rest in Peace. He is not the one that caused you to loose election. |

dangotesmummy:What exactly is the nonsense currently happening that was caused by his amalgamation and subsequent creating of Nigeria? The problems we have are nepotism, corruption, lack of moral values, tribalism, greed, cultism etc. Lugard didn't cause that. This same Nigeria was a very prosperous and great country before all the ills I mentioned took hold. 2 Likes |

SpecialAdviser: Lugard never had any good intention from the onset, he only did so out of his selfish interest. The amalgamation was done to serve British selfish interest because it allowed them first take over the North from France. But this's the part nobody talks about and a reason France would do anything to destroy Nigeria because they feel cheated. The first reason compelled them to amalgamate the lands so that they could rule poor North and wealthy South under one government. All done without consideration of the tribes and ethnicity in those lands, traditional government, language, cultural differences, etc. So, they ended up creating a disaster called Nigeria. On the other hand, in India, which was already one country before Britain got there, it suited British interest to split the country into three, and they did so by creating Bangladesh, Pakistan, India. All done against their will!!. The rule of thumb: whatever white people gave you during colonialism, no matter how good it appears, they did it for their selfish interest. 2 Likes |

And we must always note the fact that our almagamation is our strength and what's makes us stand tall amongst the rest. This fact you can't take away. BigBashiru: I wish you knew what England did after Rome left their land. 1. They dropped Latin and Greek, which were used to colonize them 1348. 2. They adapted education in their own language- 1362. 3. They wrote their own bible- 1611. You haven't done all the above, and thus, can't be said to be truly independent. 2 Likes |
