freshvine: Is this Africa Magic where the wives sit pretty and only husbands hustle? The problem is that we have reduced a father's role as a financial sperm donor which most of them are not even equipped to handle. Let's talk gender roles: I remember years back, I was opportuned to stumble on a beautiful sight. A keke driver took his kids for a cruise on a Saturday morning. His wife (their mom) fried akara for them to eat on the trip. How much does it cost to make akara? How much fuel would the man use to drive his kids around the area? You think those kids would forget that memory? 3 Likes |

livinbygrace: That's not true. I believe if a father raises his child(ren) in love and sound care, the child(ren) will grow to reciprocate such love and care. But in our society today, it seems mothers in most family settings are the ones that do such and that is why the children grow to love and care more about their mothers. When a father shows love and care to his child(ren), they will in turn reciprocate it to him when they grow older. |

bukatyne:. For me,both are special and very important. So I will share it equal. Do you ve a problem with that? That you don't see both of your parents as special and very important in your life should not be a problem to me. You ve every right to share the money the way you like. |

JONNYSPUTE: As a matter of fact, I should be the one telling you that. People will share the gift based on how the parents are/were to them. The rating of parents is a personal thing. 1 Like |

bukatyne:. So what's your problem if I share it 50/50?. Both of my parents were always there for me. You can share yours how you like. Why should you be the one telling me that? Were you not the one that asked why I should share it equal?. Or did you forget you mentioned me first? |

JONNYSPUTE: I think you are quoting the wrong person. I have not told anyone how to share the imaginary N100k, I have not questioned anyone's sharing formula either. I did not state my own sharing formula. I only engaged posters who tried to make excuses for men under the guise of gender roles or deride other posters for not sharing equally between both parents. Unlike some other posters here, I am introspective enough to know that people would share based on their circumstances hence no right or wrong answers. 1 Like |

bukatyne: Gibberish as usual from a man hater. You and I knows 99.5 % of women will abort their pregnancy if the men impregnating them refuse responsibility. After they are done taking responsibility in most State, you'll be quick to tag them sperm donors. The family should function as a unit not each parent trying to out do the other. Where one partner is lacking in parenting due to other family business, the other covers up. Except in the total absence of a partner in a marriage raising the children, anyone taking preference on either parent is still not mature until reality shock set in |

ArcToyin:Pops will always say he's fine even when he's not. Since I noticed that, I don't ask him if he needs anything anymore. I have his account details and will ship stuff to him without him asking. He's always forming strong man. |

bukatyne:.. Go back and see where you quoted me first. Note. I see my parents as one. What I do for dad,I also do for mum. I give both equal amount and s separate amount for feeding and upkeep. |

PotatoSalad: Recently, I had a reminisce of the loss my dad had then. I could remember when my brother gained admission, the money he wanted to use to pay his school fee was with a neighbor over 100k 12years ago. Few days, the neighbour died. He didn't break down or show any bad mood. Despite the ugly incident, he has to still put something down on the table for the family. Am learning from him at the moment the man called "man" 1 Like |

If I gave my dad 90k and my mom 10k. Somehow, he'll still end up giving it all to my mum, who will give the 100 back to me and my siblings. Love you both forever. 1 Like |
