him.

It's so unfortunate that Ronaldinho squandered all his money on parties, women, extravagant lifestyle, keeping late nights, countless women, eating anyhow and even getting overweight and because of that, Barcelona had to let him go.

His career was over because he didn't listen to advise.

He was even having active sex during the 2006 world cup in Germany and that was why he couldn't perform.

He is the cause of his dwindled career.

As a professional, you must learn self discipline and control.

this is the lifestyle of Brazilian footballers. They love to enjoy life

Damm!!!! This guys are rich for life.

4 million Euros is about 1.6 billion naira.

This is the amount of money a man is giving out without breaking a sweat, though it's for a good cause though because Ronaldinho was really good to him.

Nobody is saying you shouldn't party or carry women but you must not do that during an ongoing season, maybe after the close of the football season.

This is what seperates those that last long from those with short career like Ronaldinho and balloteli.

Anyways kudos to Messi but 1.6 Billion naira is no small money.

Apart from Davido and Wizkid, does any AFRICA celeb have 1.6 billion naira in cash in the bank?

Hmm just thinking out loud.

Yea, you know that guy Paul of Psquare, na that guy get raw cash pass for our naija artists them oo.

I think he is able to do it because he makes way more than he spends, not sure how.

Wizkid is not even near perhaps he has foreign accounts or spends a lot.

i once wrote a few months back that Ronaldinho was broke....and that all his millions were gone, and some foolish people thought i was talking rubbish. the above is a clue. yes, he still has houses cars in Brasil etc but NO MORE CASH. he cant even pay the fine of a few millions that the Brazilian gov imposed on his biz, so he could get his passport back to travel abroad, so he has to now turn to forgery. lol

so he cant even afford lawyers so Messi needs to chip in?!

So why are you rubbing it in or do you want to pay the fine for him ?

Can a player in Nigeria do this for a fellow player in need? I doubt it. He will certainly get his reward. I hope he has a foundation that reaches out to the poor. That is the best way to spend his money.

pls dont show you ignorance by posting on this thread.

Messi is one of the highest paid footballers so yes he has more extra cash than most, but believing that all others are broke is a joke. many are wealthy and very smart with their money (unlike the likes of Ronaldinho). i guess you believe Pogba and all others who make more than 20m per year are broke, right?

you wrongly believe that ALL football players have wasted there hard earn salaries (over the multiple years they have played) thus believing most African players dont have 4m to spare...
here is a simple clue: how many years have the above African players you have quoted, been earning millions per years?! many have fortunes well over 10times that amount. get real

Sunday Oliseh, a former high earning player said 70% of soccer players encounter financial difficulty after leaving the game.

Anyway, you seem to claim many are mean spirited compared to others.

That isn't fair. Etoo was known to spend big on the Camerounian team. Opon Weah personally sponsored his national team several times. He was rewarded with the presidency of his country.

Many however aren't as buoyant as you think and even if they were, they can't be spending as lavishly as when they were playing as no business can bring you £100,000 a week so easily. They'd be fortunate if they make up to £1m a year after tax from their investments. They therefore have to be prudent.

Those who invested smartly did not become so by wasting their earnings when they were playing, how much more now!

there are two ways you have to look at this issues....

A) you certainly cant compare active players and retired ones... the majority of the African active players (Mane, Toure, Salah and even Pogba lol) can easily afford that amount..... who are we kidding?!

B) yes many retired players wasted their money but thats not everybody. many who were careful and made wise investment have much more than the above money mentioned.... thus to claim that, Wizkid and Davido are only Africans that have such amount in the bank, is far fetched.

If only you knew who Ronaldinho is to Lionel Messi you would know this is a small gesture by Leo.
Some friendships transcend football and cannot be quantified by money.

Oga stop saying trash.. You think it's easy for footballers to shell off such amount with no returns? Barcelona are the one responsible for This, and not Messi. They are only using Messi to deceive you guys and to gain more fans for him. that's all. have you asked yourself why it took Messi months-years to bail his dad from evasion ish?
That's strategy they came with. period.

Ronaldinho albeit his footballing exploits never appeared to me a truly responsible person.
He didn't even retire quick. Where's all his money gone?

Most Brazilian football players are never responsible. They don't spend Prudently at all. Just look at Neymar towing that line too Partying and giving the 6 or so friends following him everywhere around the world 10k dollars each every month as salary.
