Upworkwriter007: Bro, I be Abuja boy o. Though Suleja is politically part of Niger state 80% of her inhabitants are a civil servant of or workers that are earning their living in Abuja, ditto Mararaba. From Suleja, through Mandala, Zuba, Kubwa experess way all the way down to AYA, to Abacha barack, down to Marabba and even Masaka are all consider to be Abuja. 2 Likes |

LegendHer0:Dude has never been to Ibadan. He's using google map to determine how modernised a city is. I was in Ibadan last Christmas and the fun i had compared favourably with Lagos. Kano for example has only one shoprite mall while Ibadan has two not to count other malls that can compete favourably with shop rite that exist in Ibadan. 7 Likes 1 Share |

LegendHer0: Kano does not have exclusive domination of the north. Kaduna can give Kano a run for it's money in almost every aspect. Ibadan is doing better than Kano in Human development index definitely because Hausa fulani people are largely illiterate. Nothing else. myobjective: This is very very false. The modern parts of Ibadan can never be bigger than the modern parts of Kano. Use Google maps right now to view Ibadan and Kano closely, then come back and repeat this statement. 80% of the houses and suburbs in Ibadan look very very brown and dusty from above! And very congested too! 2 Likes |

Agboriotejoye: Upworkwriter007: What exactly are you guys arguing? Parts of Suleja & Karu are in Nasarawa & Niger states, does that stop these places from being part of Abuja urban area? Agbara, Sango Ota, Ibafo e.t.c, are all these places not located in Ogun state? Does it stop them from being part of greater Lagos Urban area? 4 Likes |

Agboriotejoye: I always watch some ignorant folks online. They always use Molete-Bode-Oja Oba-Bere area to depicit Ibadan online like that is what Ibadan actually look like lol. Ibadan has lot of housing estates, while even the Challenge - Orita - Oluyole Estate - Academy - Ajila Estate - etc alone has lot of housing and better placed industries. Industries along that New Garage -Podo Area - Down to Odo-Ona Kekere alone self plenty. Not even talking of all those Bodija, Dugbe, Agodi GRA etc. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Biafrarep: Thank you very much for this. Some Igbos are already here lamenting thinking that the fact that SE cities are smaller means less population, but that is not true. SE/SS cities build storey buildings far far more compared to the north. Land is very cheap, available and everywhere in the north, so people do not bother to build storey buildings. Jos may be twice the size of Aba in Landmass, but population wise, they should be the same! 4 Likes |

Grgton:Lol.....the only part of ibadan with brown roofs is the mapo/beere/kudeti axis of ibadan. those areas are as big as a city, so i understand the perception that that's ibadan... that 80% of ibadan is congested? i won't even say 5% of Ibadan is congested. That brown roof area is the village of ibadan, where the indigenes come from. mafo 10 Likes 1 Share |

Nowenuse: I am a civil engineer and I have actually visited both city to work on building project. I used to have this believe until I actually visit Ibadan to handle a building project. During the course of the project, I actually traveled around and I was amazed by the level of development of the city. The edge the south normally has over the north is presence of more middle class. These middle class are the people responsible for most of these modern districts in the south, reasons why southern states capital normally have more modern districts than their northern counterpart. For example, a city like Minna has wonderful road, canal and drainage in the city but the built up areas are abysmally poor compare to a city like Awka that may not such infrastructure. Minna infrastructure were largely built by the Babangida gov't but due to the level of poverty of inhabitant the city is not so good. 15 Likes 1 Share |

[quote author=Agboriotejoye post=87337885] Suleja was actually the city of government, the first NTA in Abuja was built in Suleja, the first presidential lodge was built in Suleja and 70% of current Abuja land belongs to the Suleja Emirate. Most of the infrastructure in Suleja like roads, water work were actually done by the state government because it has a special status. 1 Like |

Nowenuse:The bolded is a lie bro. You don't know Ibadan. Most of you always use the Molete- Bode - Bere stretch to categorize Ibadan coz that is where all those dusty roofs are concentrated. I just always laugh online because you don't even know the actual urbanized Ibadan. We have Aerodome GRA, Samonda, Alalubosa GRA, Jericho GRA, New and old Bodija GRA, Agodi GRA, Ikolaba GRA, Bashorun Estate, Kolapo Ishola GRA, Carlton Gate, Alao-Akala Estate. See moving down to even Oluyole Estate side down to those Ajila and the new site of Elebu etc alone no be child play. Mind you, I don't even know much of Ibadan coz I left properly since 2008. Agboriotejoye: Grgton: You people are the Ignorant one here oga... Madalla/Zuba are in FCT, but Suleja is in Niger state.... Madalla/Zuba and Suleja are one urban area, you cannot separate one from the other..... Same way Mararaba-Nyanya has some parts in FCT and others in Nasarawa state. FCT is not a state, it is just a small area carved out from present day Nasarawa, Niger & Kogi states to serve as FCT. Get this and stop embarrassing yourselves... Urban and metropolitan areas are not measured based on states... Rather they are measured on how development spreads and how connected these suburbs are socially, economically and infrastructurally. For example, Kaduna city is divided by a river and that river is to be the boundary for the creation of Gurara state (for Southern Kaduna people)... If this is achieved, does it now make Kaduna city 2 entirely different cities? 5 Likes 1 Share |
