GamalNasser: Simply put, they’re reducing pump price to 130 from 145 and the payment of subsidies will be stopped because no essence of paying subsidies when crude oil has gone down to less than $30 |

grandstar: I totally agree. That is another factor all on its own. Solutions for all these issues are usually subject to the analyses of economic think tanks, government audit teams, researchers, and input from higher institutions. We don't have all these structures working effectively in Nigeria, so we vent on NL. It all really comes down to our poor work ethic. 1 Like |

RisenPhoenix: Poor work ethic won't resolve. A change in policy is necessary. A policy change that will bring lending rates down to single-digit levels. Soludo wanted to bring about the change by changing the inflationary manner in which monthly allocations are disbursed to the 3 tiers of government. unfortunately, he was sabotaged by the governors and from his enemies within the Central Bank. Had he been smart and sold the idea to the federal and state governors, there was a great likelihood they would have bought it. Soludo is a technocrat and not a politician able to sell his ideas to the political class or even the masses. |
