Because they've 3 years of food in storage. In a total lock down those living from hand to mouth would kill everyone else. 7 Likes |

Can you believe that most people still view this whole virus matter from the political angle. this virus is here in Nigeria already. All we need to do is to carry out our own cleanliness act by thoroughly washing our hands and using the sanitizers when appropriate. God will help us all. clevvermind: |

The first lady is suffering from the isolation that comes with such privileged position as that of first ladies. Any attempt at doing copy and paste of policies will backfire spectacularly here. Let's consider out uniqueness and be honest as we make policies. How many people can successfully eke a living from the homes? How many? This is what UN has been shouting with their many programs. Urban planning, spacing, water security, food security, educational standards etc. These people ruling us a curse to us. I am sorry to say. Sad enough, the congested but more educated southern Nigeria is more exposed on this one. They depend more on day to day interaction for their meal ticket and are less adapted to the rural lifestyle. 7 Likes |

I support the first lady fully as this has always been my stance. China shut their country down for about a month and they now have a reprieve from the pandemic, let us follow this path too. |

donbachi:I wonder ooo....Majority of Nigerians are living from hand to mouth on daily basis, we will be shocked that number of people that hunger will kill will rapidly outnumber that of corona virus...then foreigners will start giving us some sort of relief.....If we have better government, this is the time that government will provide some relief but Nigeria as a control is too poor for that now...what a pathetic situation 3 Likes |

She should tell her husband to come up with survival plans for the vulnerable and the poor. She is living high and don't understand what it means for the daily earners in a lockdown. 6 Likes |

[quote author=festacman post=87697047]Total lockdown especially in FCT and Lagos looking increasingly likely in the days ahead. My only fear is that millions of daily wage earners will be driven to storm the rich neighbourhoods in search of food to survive. And it might turn out a bit UNPLEASANT. I am sincerely scared for big men. I wonder ooo....Majority of Nigerians are living from hand to mouth on daily basis, we will be shocked that number of people that hunger will kill will rapidly outnumber that of corona virus...then foreigners will start giving us some sort of relief.....If we have better government, this is the time that government will provide some relief but Nigeria as a control is too poor for that now...what a pathetic situation |

Simplyleo: Nigeria doesn't need lockdown. It needs to quarantine people coming in from corona hotspots. Why will u allow all these people to come in without quarantine and then u start enforcing lockdown? Where's d sense in that? All d new cases are those of people who are trooping in from UK 9 Likes |

Well it's true that hunger will almost kill some during a lock down..but if the western countries had no better recourse than to follow this route..do we sincerely think we can do otherwise? When ones neighbours starts disappearing one by one .no body go tell you to self isolate |
