The death toll of the coronavirus outbreak has reached 2,000 victims in the U.S., doubling within the span of two days, The Washington Post reported, citing state health departments.

The first 1,000 deaths were over the course of a month, after the first death was recorded in Washington state on Feb. 29.

FYI Nigeria has low numbers because we have been hit with similar virys severally, so we have more experience in management of the crisis. Even US came here to understudy us after the Ebola crisis. Nigeria started preparation ahead even before the first case while USA wasn't. This is the real difference. I quite agree on this. I was returning to Lagos from ibadan yesterday and saw two incidences of open defecation by okada n danfo drivers by the road side even at this age. Some thoughts crossed my mind how many people would have inhaled from the feaces. Our immunity system as black men MIGHT have become used to this. Who knows if the covid 19 has been with us here many years ago.

I don't think that the us did wrong per se.the usa in the early stages of the covid 19 underestimated the level and speed of transmission of the virus.
the first plan by the CDC to carry out test was faulty and by the time it spent two weeks in Washington to figure out what works.the covid 19 was already imported by returnees and was spreading fast.
Right now that they have figures in 100000 over and 2000 deaths is unbelievable when compared with China,Italy and Spain.
the deaths are mounting in these countries because of shortage of medical facilities. if the us can get early testing and medical artillery's (ventilator, respirators, ppe for staff) and the retro viral drugs to all the states on time the rate of death will cut off
