Check out Akwaibom state medical set up and equipment acquired by Gov Udom to fight Covid-19 Pandemic.

This is good news...

FACILITY TOUR !

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has visited the state Quaternary Medical Center, Ibom Multi Specialty Hospital, Uyo, to ascertain the functionality of machines and preparedness of the facility to contain medical emergencies .
The Governor who was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government , Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem, Commissioner for Health Dr Dominic Ukpong and Commissioner for Information Mr Charles Udoh, toured the Intensive Care Unit, ICU, Emergency Theatre as well as inspected Ventilators and other equipment in the hospital.

COVID 19: GOV EMMANUEL IMPRESSED WITH NEW FACILITIES AT SPECIALIST HOSPITAL

Governor Udom Emmanuel has again reiterated that his administration will continue to be proactive in providing healthcare facilities in Akwa Ibom state in line with his premium on the health of his people.

During a tour of some recently acquired facilities at the Ibom Multi-Specialty Hospital Tuesday evening, Governor Emmanuel said he went with some health experts to assess the functionality of the health equipment to handle any emergency health pandemic situations including the dreaded COVID-19.

The Governor who commended the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital and the Commissioner for Health on the level of improvement noticed, said his visit was also to "ensure that they have expanded the number of beds, that we ordered to accommodate extra 20 facilities in case of any emergency and I'm happy with what I’ve seen.

Speaking with newsmen at the end of the tour, Governor Emmanuel said, “it is not just to check the state of preparedness that we came, it’s to make sure what we’ve put on ground are functional and are working well.
"I came here with the experts so that we can have a look to see that those things work well. We wanted the whole 13 ventilators checked to be sure they are working very well, even though we don’t have any incident now of the COVID-19 in the state”.

He expressed satisfaction with the state of facility as he inspected the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Theatre, ventilators for adults and babies as well as other state of the art equipment recently acquired by the state government.

He also expressed satisfaction with the new emergency theatre his administration put in place at the facility saying it is unprecedented in any government hospital anywhere in Nigeria.
"I'm sure you saw the kind of emergency theatre we have there. I want to be corrected, if that is in any teaching hospital in Nigeria let somebody show me or take me there. And that’s something we just fixed two months ago.

"When we tell people the amount of money we spend on medical equipment, people did not know a day like this will come, so now we are opening up our containers.

While insisting that the measures in place were not in reaction to the Corona virus scare, Mr Emmanuel explained that, "we are interested in every aspect of illness and to make sure that all our citizens are well taken care of."
"We don’t just react. We put things in place to take care of the health of our citizens, because every single life is as important as the life of the Governor.

Mr. Emmanuel commended the state medical team and assured that government will continue to monitor healthcare situation of the state, not just for Corona virus, but to be ahead of any disease outbreak.

“It is not only Corona virus that we should be concerned about. Malaria kills too. So we are interested in every aspect of illness and to make sure that all our citizens are well taken care of. So we don’t just react.
"I hope you know Lassa fever, just of recent we had issue of monkey pox too. These are some of the challenges of medical sciences of the modern world that you need to be prepared at all times.

The Governor who was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dominic Ukpong and Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Udoh was guided round the facility by the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Professor Emmanuel Ekanem.
During the visit, a group of health workers who serve as District Surveillance and Notification Officers across the State, were seen being trained, in line with the Governor’s promise of ensuring training of medical workers against COVID-19.

This is the best time to loot the treasury without much ado. Everyone is focused on the Coronavirus while the politicians excavate resources in the pretense of Procurement.

The God I serve will visit the looters with Coronavirus.

When will we stop importing?

When will be start producing?

When will we move up the consumption chain?

Until we start asking these questions and working towards the answers, our confition might never improve in this country.

You see, the looting of our people isn't the only problem. But the looted money is spent outside our system, that's the bigger problem.

Apart from crude oil, the only ways money is entering this country is freelancing and yahoo. As for freelancing, the money is too small to start any reasonable industry. Most freelancers make less than 100k monthly.

As for yahoo, they're too stupid and visionless to do the least reasonable thing with money. They know only olosho, phones and cars. The cars and phones are imported. The oloshos spend all the money on imported makeups, hairs, phones and cars. So it's all back in the drain.

We need visionary rich men who will invest on the secondary and tertiary industries not people that will be promoting the exportation of raw materials and importation of finished products.

For example, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola's government (no insult intended) banned the sales of Teak wood in Osun because according to exporting the wood generated revenue. Hey! The foreigners buying this wood aren't eating it, they're using it to produce stuff that you'll go and buy for at least thrice the price they paid you. This is only an example of how most people think in this country, irrespective of culture or political party.

Corona virus is in Nigeria today, no thanks to Buhari and his cohorts. Shutting down the borders in due time would have saved this country this dilemma. But here we are. North Korea is safe today despite sharing a border with China; why?? Coz they were able to shut down their borders in time.

But our clueless President (who knows that the country lacks the necessary equipments, manpower and skilled professionals to handle this pandemic effectively) didn't see the borders being left open as a threat.
