The truth is that democracy as practised in Nigeria is expensive.

108 members of the senate and another 350 members of house of reps not to talk of the state houses then you realise it is simply a conduit.

A leader with a plan would simply be getting opposition on every topic till his tenure is over.

In the 80s when Buhari was military head of state was he running a democracy then that in 18 months he didn't initiate a single capital project ?

When you want to steal, steal in the way you won't be caught the only wrong of Abacha was the killing of innocent citizens and those who dare to challenge him.imagine the growth in the national reserve and the project he carried out in 4 years, but our new cry baby of Government keep complaining about everything

Maybe because we didn't have the so called legislators and the humongous amount of money budgeted for them.

With the huge amount allotted to the legislators alone, I strongly believe you can execute the aforementioned project.

Democracy in Nigeria is costly.

If you check what our

Presidents

Vice Presidents

Governors

Dept Governors

Senators

House of rep members

Have received as salaries and allowances , you will understand.

Let me not talk of what this thieves receive after leaving office which is much more.

Only way is to reduce that drastically first making politics not lucrative and then starting productiona to get dollars.

Adeosun for Buhari Aluko for Abacha

Adeosun for Buhari Aluko for Abacha

Aluko was never minister of finance.

He was head of the National Economic Intelligence Committee.

To be fair, it was perhaps bigger than the ministry of finance because they coordinated everything.
But it wasnt his official portfolio.
