With all the billions flying around yet they treat this nurses like trash and want to pay them peanuts...

Point of correction pls. Both are quite tedious, but nursing school cannot be compared to the drilling and duration in medical school.

They should have quietly negotiated their pay instead of all this embarrassment. Even the doctors are poorly paid by any standard sef!

There was no need limiting whatever demand they had by comparing pay with the doctors. They could even negotiate more than the doctors' pay. That's obtainable in a lot of Countries.

Because they don't train to be nurses? Because their university degrees are given to them in their houses? Why can't you try and take jamb and go in and see how easy it is? Even if you have to go through Schools of nursing - which I think are supposed to have received a better government attention - before you move up to a degree, the process of acquiring required knowledge for a nurse is not an easy one. Are you saying they just go to work to say 'yes sir/madam'? Everyone of them have their individual role in delivering healthcare services. They work as a team. They cannot be paid equally but you don't discount others' significance so that you can be satisfied. Must others be tied down before you can make progress? Nigerian mentality!

dats d way it is in other parts of d world in america for instance a nurse earns an average of $57k annually while doctors earn about $191k nurses at d top of their career earn $167k per year while consultant orthopedic, cardiac, neuro, surgeons at d top earn up To $700k per annum dats why many people want to become doctors nd leave nigeria for greener pastures

They have highjacked the leadership, If they increase other health workers allowance, u will hear Nma saying they are going on strike. unless the federal government restructure the health sectors, we are going nowhere as a people.

So they should calm down and take their pay home, or they make a switch and become doctors.

This their unintelligent outburst is devaluing them. They even went further putting their mediocrity on full glare by acknowledging the fact, that 440k is also small for doctors. When did they assume the office of the spokespersons for the doctors?

All I see is unhealthy jealousy lurking around the corridors of our health system being unwisely displayed.

25 doctors .and a number of other staff in UBTH have gone into isolation because a coronavirus patient and his relatives lied about travel history. Exposing a whole Hospital. Something similar happened in LUTH and UITH.

I agree that the pay disparity is too much and everyone should be paid more. what's hurtful, is the way they have to compare themselves to doctors Everytime. It reeks of inferiority complex.

I am yet to hear of patients relatives charging nurses to court. They are usually silent in those cases

Simple question, what is the highest job of a Nurse that qualifies them more pay than their current pay?..

I repeat, everyone is paid according to their wealth of knowledge, not only Nurse work with the doctor , pharmacist do too. Y always comparing ur pay with that of a doctor.
