Even a blind man knew the lock down will be extended .
From all indications it might be extended by another two weeks .

But it hasn't been extended. It is still undecided

So Knew shouldn't be used. If it has been extended, then you can now use"knew"
"Even a blind man knows it lock down will be extended."

Assuming it has been extended, you say" Even a blind man knew it would be extended"

People will come out by force. Hunger is more deadly than coronavirus. People won't care anymore. How can u just put people Indoors without considering how they will feed??. Majority of Nigerians are living from hand to mouth without government support.

I bet you. People won't come out. People won't dare. Swallow it.

We believe It is for everyone's good health.
If LOCKDOWN came early in Italy, USA and the other countries severely affected by Coronavirus, it won't be as deadly as this.

Palliative measures is all we ask for, for the poor among Nigerians and those that make their daily bread selling on a daily basis.

We wish the last 2 presidents before our darling Daddy were named Obama and Clinton Bush that left trillions of dollars in America treasury before they left and nothing like looting or theft was heard of.
That is the only way Donald could ever had something to fall back on to be able to share 2 trillion dollars for all Americans in this pandemic period.
But in our darling nation, the last 2 presidents and their cronies looted our national treasury dry and out.
The Excess Crude Account was looted dry.
Foreign reserves drawn down.
Federation Account, emptied.
And the economy was set on an irreversible path to recession.

And they say; don't talk about it.
Focus on the present and the future only.
How we miss Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. He would have said: "I go shout o, I go shout plenty o."
If we don't focus on the past, we are then liable to make the same mistakes.
"Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it." (George Santayana).
Truth is bitter.
There was a country!
We will survive this deadly virus.
Together We will win this war.
We Rise!

Meanwhile, somewhere in Imo State......

We have been all around doing our best to fight against this Coronavirus issue Chief Segliz.
Some of us @ joined a voluntary first responder group against Covid-19 with LASG and Nigeria as a whole.
It was tough, but we will keep going.
We will win this war as a nation.

Stay safe bro.

When the US was at 305 cases, they kept things open, Trump was saying everything was under control, flights and ships kept on coming in, and business kept on moving

The result: US has 504,780 cases with 18,763 deaths.

You want Nigeria to reach that level?? With our critically bad health care system?

Doesn't mean your points are wrong though, but the alternative is equally horrifying.

But we will put in place many things they did not - social distancing, masks, no hand shaking or hugs, sanitizer dispensary everywhere, only very small crowds except outdoors, all foreigners quarantined, anybody outside with any symptoms immediately "arrested" and isolated, etc

the USA is using a model based on there own data,

Do not forget , the United States population is equivalent to 4.25% of the total world population.

Don't just pick a small subset of s set to generalise it

Nigeria' s rate is even less. It is possible coro finds it hard to kill Nigerians who have never left Nigeria

Rubbish
This is exactly what the USA did that put them in the mess they are in. This is a Matter of life n death , there should be no gambling whatsoever.

But they did not have what we'd have in place:
social distancing, masks, no hand shaking or hugs, sanitizer dispensary everywhere, only very small crowds except outdoors, all foreigners quarantined, anybody outside with any symptoms immediately "arrested" and isolated, etc

The problem with waiting to see a spike is that the spread of Corona Virus is geometric, so when you begin to see a spike, its much harder to control. Nigeria does not have the infrastructure nor skilled manpower to treat the Corona virus.

U have a point, but my hunch is we won't see any spike. Coro finds it hard to kill Nigerians who never left Nigeria.
We will also have so much in place: social distancing, masks, no hand shaking or hugs, sanitizer dispensary everywhere, only very small crowds except outdoors, all foreigners quarantined, anybody outside with any symptoms immediately "arrested" and isolated, etc

At some point, US had 305 case while Italy was recording deaths. US did not shut their economy, now see where they are with all their health care facilities. So imagine what will happen to Nigeria that don't have that kind of facility.

But they had no stringent conditions in place like we will have: social distancing, masks, no hand shaking or hugs, sanitizer dispensary everywhere, only very small crowds except outdoors, all foreigners quarantined, anybody outside with any symptoms immediately "arrested" and isolated, etc

If you lock down only after a spike has occurred, then it will be too late. People will just go home and die because they would have already contracted the virus.

But my hunch is we won't see any spike. Coro finds it hard to kill Nigerians who never left Nigeria. Extending the lock down will be in our own best interest. It is for our own good. Suffering may linger for awhile but there's always light at the end of the tunnel.
There should be balance in everything,a lot of people are really going through a lot,a widow called me today that she and her 3 kids haven't eaten since thursday, its no joke my dear, she makes and sells bedsheets...if people must stay at home , govt.should help out a bit.

It is inevitable no big issue, it must increase, covid is not a death sentence, hunger, poor standard of living, & malaria fever are more likely to kill way more fellow Nigerians than covid 19.

China, Vietnam, South Korea, New Zealand, Israel all used three things to break the chain, and be zero free of the virus:
1) Proper Information disposal about the situation and how the government is taking care of it. In other words, proper orientation of the situation and making sure that everyone is aware of what is happening... This is the first step to stop spread of false information.
2) Total lockdown
3) Massive Testing along affected areas
4) Massive Disinfection...
The total lockdown enabled the massive testing which helped to quickly identify infected persons and isolate them.
In fact, browse about how Vietnam fought the Corona virus, you will be amazed.
