That you've gone past a stage doesn't mean everyone has overcome that stage, it's cumbersome going through series of pages you can't remember anymore what specifically was explained in such pages. After a long battle with the phone number issues I was able to verify my prolific account just tonight, because someone mentioned a particular trick he used earlier.
