The story making the rounds have it that a returnee from US, male, aged, and a retired diplomat tested positive to the virus in Lagos. He attempted to and was able to bribe his way and was let off to return to Kano, while no one in Kano was informed.

Upon returning to Kano, he didn't tell anyone of his status and began mingling with people. He even went for the crowded Friday prayers.

Somehow, he was discovered two days ago. Since then, aggressive testing and isolation has begun in Kano. The state is locking down all their borders today and is set to ensure a full lockdown.

But it appears the man did a whole lot of damage already. Expect more numbers from Kano today.

Now is when they really need FG's support.

On another note, Wike is being vindicated...

That man s wicked

They should have started testing aggressively from the get go.
By not doing that they allowed the disease to continue spreading silently.
Now they will have to test many more cases to contain the virus.

Like I said earlier, this virus is fully airborne. Despite weeks of Lockdown, cases have been jumping. I, for one, fully believe that by simply breathing, transmission can occur

Masks seems to be more effective. Pls wear one whenever outside

Stay safe

Initially it was Abuja Osun State was racing with but with the look of things now,Kano seems to want to overtake the two States stated above and be competing with Lagos....well, I'm not surprise, na Kano and Lagos plenty pass in terms of population in Nigeria....let's see who wins race grin grin grin grin.

On a more serious note,I wish the infected a quicker recovery and may the Lord help us put an End to this Pendamic......Amen

Not true.

There are still almajiris in Kano. They are no longer visible within Kano city centre but at the rural areas, one will find them.

Ever since the Chinese came into the country, the rate of reported cases have increased significantly. One may argue that it is due to increased testing, but i cant help to differ and wonder about their purpose of coming here.
Judging by your assumption, then we can simply say the rate of discharged cases have also increased significantly.

We’ve seen this play out all over the world. By not testing enough, people are deceived into thinking the virus is not spreading. Meanwhile, the virus keeps spreading on the down-low. When they finally start testing, there is an explosion of new cases. In some cases the virus' spreading advances to a point where they lose all hope of containing it and only test people with major symptoms who need to be hospitalized.

There is no alternative to testing. Lockdowns and even wearing face-masks will only slow it down. Testing sufficiently can stop the virus. If you can find all the people that are currently infected and isolate them, the disease can no longer spread. It's very simple, but not easy. You have to keep testing as many people as you can and eventually it will get to a point where the new cases will start dropping. It happened in South Korea and Taiwan. The longer you wait, the more massive the testing you have to do to contain the virus. Not containing it is not an option.

The policy of only testing people with travel history was terribly, comically, and obviously unwise. I'm glad that PMB forced the policy to change.
