Adeoyem: You want to hear the truth. With this budget you will get into trouble. Step down the year and run along with a 2006 Is250. 2 Likes |

Aaaaarghmed: Thanks for your response. No, not a first time user. I've once used a Lexus RX330 I'm considering these Indices: Fuel economy Availability and cost of spare parts Little bit of luxury and ruggedness Thanks |

With this Coro economy, hold on to your cash don't make any purchase now. When things bite harder, people will sell things lower to survive. 2 Likes |

In case no one has told you, the only car your budget will be able to buy is an IS250. |

Adeoyem:you can't be considering availability of parts and be looking at an IS250. You know GS is a 3.5 litre engine and you seek fuel economy. Finally, these cars you mentioned as naija used will be more of a nightmare in my opinion. Unless you are very sure of maintenance history. And the prices you mention, are not feasible for good Nigerian used of those cars. Finally, your considerations and your wants do not have any relationship. Re evaluate your considerations or change your wants. NB: I have all the cars you mentioned, but tokunbo. 1 Like 1 Share |

weyreypey:I have read them. Those are not valid and don't cut across all the production. You can't use one or two people's problems to make a generalisation. Akin to same thing we have been saying here. First about the dashboard, it's not peculiar to IS250. Camry 07 to 09, Lexus RX330 and 350 of same body, Avalon 05- 07, Lexus ES350, Lexus GX470 all have cracking and melting dashboards. Infiniti fx is not excluded. All those other issues mentioned are not gotten across board on all IS250. That car is a great car with all the gadgets packed in it. Engine and transmission are very good. |
Re: Choice Of Car Delimma by weyreypey: 8:29pm On Apr 22, 2020 |
chukel: unfortunately those issues are inevitable and some very expensive. I for one may run amok in such plagued cars, |
Re: Choice Of Car Delimma by Adeoyem: 2:11am On Apr 23, 2020 |
Adeoyem: Thank you everyone for your candid opinions on this. Seeing that I don't stand a good chance with any of the listed cars above, I ask you good people: With the same budget of 1.6m - 1.7m, can I get a good deal for either 2008/09 camry toyota 2008/09 corolla toyota If yes, which do you recommend with the following indices: -Fuel economy -Availability of affordable parts -Ruggedness |
Re: Choice Of Car Delimma by weyreypey: 2:14am On Apr 23, 2020 |
Adeoyem:Don't you have any taste or purpose for which you need the car? No person should be seeking the Camry and Corolla as options for each other! Ruggedness Toyota Landcruiser/4runner Fuel economy Corolla Affordable parts... No serious difference. NOW LISTEN THE COROLLA IS AN ENDANGERED CAR... IT IS READILY STOLEN OR LOOTED... The Camry has melting dashboard issues.... Very terrible. It also has engine oil consumption issues... Note both issues are inevitable... and for the two any peke na new engine.. Copied from above: First about the dashboard, it's not peculiar to IS250. Camry 07 to 09, Lexus RX330 and 350 of same body, Avalon 05- 07, Lexus ES350, Lexus GX470 all have cracking and melting dashboards. Infiniti fx is not excluded. |
Re: Choice Of Car Delimma by chukel(m): 6:51am On Apr 23, 2020 |
Adeoyem:now your considerations and match tally. I assume you still talking about Nigerian used. For that amount, you will have change. I know you can get a toks 2007/2008 Camry for 2m. Please save more and complete it. I think same can go for 09 corolla. Remember 08 is different from 09. Finally, considering your indices, 09 corolla takes it. All the best |
