Wait O! Is there any coordination here?

Politecnic Ilaro just exhibited portable ventilators begging for Mass production.

NDA Abuja also exhibited prototype ventilators ready for Mass production.

Innoson and another company in the West are waiting for green light.

Is the right people's hand talking to the left?

the government is slow in everything. Slow in appointing ministers, slow in closing the airport and borders, slow in carrying out tests and in the end Nigerians pay dearly for snail style of leadership.

Exactly the endgame I have been talking about. Lie about your capabilities to monopolise the scant resources, destroyed the economy and then surrender at the zenith of the pandemic when it is clear that the dam has burst.

He should not complain. He should sit there and sort it out since they don't want to listen. He must square this circle. They want to hide behind the drive by the citizens to survive the economic calamity to capitulate to Covid 19. Our own must always be different in Nigeria.

See tiny countries with fractions of our resources managing this thing far better.

Kobojunkie:

Ventilators have not been proven ineffective since the use of ventilators were never as a CURE for the viral infection but to help buy patients time while the doctors help their body fight the virus.

Ventilators are prescribed purposely to patients with difficult breathing. One of the last stage of the virus

Study showed that 9 in 10 of people placed on ventilator died. That means 90% percent. what is your measure of efficiency?

early test, early isolation and early treatment is still the best approach. They need more testing kit than they need more ventilators. That is my argument.

He has made a good point that Nigerians are complaining of the lockdown and want to go back to normal life, but if the government were truthful in distribution of palliatives, the masses would not complain. Since majority of citizens have weak financial stand, and the government has failed woefully, who do we blame? We blame the government, a failed government. If the funds have not been stolen, how come food/money isn't going around for the benefit of citizens across the states? You can't deceive the people.

NCDC and unpreparedness are 5 & 6, I thought they said they will be sharing ventilators from state to state if need be, so now is the time you need more, not proactive enough.
Well Sha my fellow Nigerians be expecting another 2weeks lockdown cos' kwara is on another two weeks holiday.
Stay safe.

Nobody donated any money directly to NCDC rather through the joint presidential taskforce on Covid-19, ministry of finance and CBN.
Thanks

Nawa ooo.
Am short of words

The cost of a good ventilator is about $30,000 (30,000 x ₦360) = ₦10,800,000
Therefore, if we use the amount donated by just one donor for this Covid19 pandemic, say the ₦1billion donated by GTBank to buy the ventilator, we would have ₦1,000,000,000/₦10,800,000=100 Ventilators, and we have just 31 deaths so, those ventilators would have gone far in saving lives. Why are so wicked in this part of the world? And the remaining other billions can go into test kits and PPE as simple as that

Don't be gullible and buy that narrative. They are building an escape pod with your sentiment. If the Covid battle fails they will say it is the citizens who caused it by agitating for a reopen and wash their hands off any respinsibility.

That is why we should expend our energies demanding for a concise strategy, a clear route to the end of this thing rather than beg bread. A plan that says if we do exactly this we can bring this battle to an end by this time with x amount of resources.

Nigerians are not the only ones demanding for economic liberty. The difference here is that those who are in charge are reactionary. As if they just set up shop and wait for Covid to come buy lives instead of hunting for it and setting traps all over the place.

many didn't understand that NCDC is just an agency saddled with the responsibility of management, reporting and documentation of infectious diseases.

They only apply for fund through the ministry of Health.

You can't donate to them directly.

What I say to the NCDC at this point where it appears they have lost control as one of my final suggestions is to select just ONE aspect, the most critical aspect of the pandemic and go for it with whatever they have.

They should focus on testing ALONE and completely vacate the stage of isolation, contact tracing and treatment for the states. They are doing far too much to be effective in any. If they cannot bring in capacity by delegation then they cannot win.

The Feds should do the work of normal central goverments, relating internationally which in the case of Covid 19 will be checking international movement and more importantly the procurement of critical supplies: test kits and PPE. The states should handle everything else.

What exactly are you trying to say So if the the virus spreads and escalates, do you think only the poor masses will die/be infected? Even those stealing the funds will be affected one way or the other. You think that hungry people would give a hoot joining you in discussing strategies to resolve the pandemic, or they would be more interested in going out to heck out a living. Now that we have a sizable number of victims is when we should have a total lockdown, with adequate resources shared out, but how will lockdown work with masses complaining they are hungry, relief funds stolen, shared with sentiments, etc. Truth is, we can only be hopeful a vaccine is out and the virus does not spread, otherwise the poor/ those embezzling relief materials would both go down.

Of course, not all coronavirus patients even need the ventilators. Only people that developed severe pneumonia symptoms. ( difficulty in breathing)

Oga, demand for accountability and stop these semantics. Stop giving goverment officials a free pass. This country is in serious trouble. They, whoever has been receiving money on behalf of goverment should be held accountable. Nigerians want to know why we appear under resourced despite publicly declared donations. Transparency is not what you toy with in critical situation such as this.

If Nigerians arr going to be kept at home till December due to lack of resources to battle Covid 19 let us know NOW so that those who have a serious stake in Nigeria can go find the resources to shorten the battle.

Is it a sin for goverment to be open, honest and transparent.
