Avalancheman: think before you talk, if you have surplus money all fingers are not equal consider the low income citizens before any government can make policy, most Nigerian's are struggling with daily feeding. government should look into this situation critically before further actions 1 Like |

Powerintoxicate: They are well informed, particularly by the walls of their stomach. Ordering a lockdown without providing adequate palliatives to cushion its effect is grossly unfair and insensitivity. US, Canada and other sane climes are providing cash and food aids to their citizens to encourage them to stay indoors. Have these guys been given any? 2 Likes 1 Share |

For those of you saying the govt should extended the lockdown to increase testing and contact tracing, let me answer you, did the number of test significantly increased during the additional lockdown from 5000 the first two weeks to 10000 plus for the second two weeks? Answer is NO. A typical scenario is an Antelope that hid in a cave with nothing to eat for days and a Lion waiting patiently to feed on the antelope. Do you know naturally, after the antelope wait a while with no hope of food in the cave, the antelope will risk it and run with the hope he can outrun the lion and get to a safe place to get food, that is exactly how this situation we are battling with is at the moment. Whether you extend lockdown or not, people who need to go out and look for money to buy food will not stay at home because they cannot watch their young ones die of hunger. The best the government can do is to implement a partial lockdown not a total lockdown. Total lockdown cannot work in poor African countries like Nigeria. Schools,Churches, Mosque,Parties, Clubs, crowded markets like trade fair, Computer village etc can stil remain closed for now. Commercial buses like Danfo in Lagos will either comply with conveying 60% load capacity or remain closed for now. Every citizen must wear a face mask and other preventive measures be in place. Those found wanting should be slammed with 2 Months prison sentence or 100k fine. This is the best option for poor african countries because it is obvious the govt of Nigeria cannot even provide for 5% of its people. 1 Like |

That's not the reason and stop lying, the reason is because they are hungry and not allow to work. |

@Powerintoxicate, they've got the right to protest. The government, by fiat, took away this right initially. Then they boxed them into a crypt without food or anything. Protests are also going on in some states in America, like Texas and others. The government, the world over, apart from Sweden, have acted impulsively and almost irresponsibly in locking down economies, because the concomitant effects are untold and disastrous. It's not the time to shut down the economy. Africa cannot afford that, because she doesn't have the buffers to rely on. |

Very pedestrian analysis. Why didn't you address the other equally key issues of hunger and conflict? It takes less than a minute for a bullet to extinguish life out of the healthiest person, it takes 3days for hunger to kill a human, it takes 14days for corona virus to even begin to manifest symptoms with a 95% recovery rate. You're a pseudo intellectual because you're too lazy to task your brain to carry out holistic analyses. Powerintoxicate: 2 Likes |

nokatakata:This is the problem with you guys. You always vote out of spite and hatred. How can a reasonable person compare buhari and atiku? On what grounds are you comparing them, Age? Education? Fairness? Exposure? How many companies does buhari as to atiku? You wouldn't want me to compare osibanjo with Peter obi, would you? This is my prayer for you, may your life be managed as buhari is managing Nigeria today and may my life be managed as Peter obi managed anambra state. Amen. 2 Likes |
