An entrepreneur or company must have been industrious for the politicians to take notice of sinister opportunities and workout mutually benefiting partnerships (to the detriment of the nation and people).

At this level, tribe or religion is usually of little consideration as things are worked out in the interests of all colluding parties who dig in harder at the National / community cake.

This is why public private partnerships under democracy are sometimes very expensive because various factoring of interests into public infrastructures and projects holds sway.

In other words, those complaining today would probably do worse if tables were turned. And history is replete with such scenarios especially in Nigeria.

If in doubt, just look at all those at the helms of affairs of the government today and compare their previous positions with various policies and implementation prior to the change of government in 2015. Which of them is doing or still saying what he was saying or promised back then?

Even they would not have believed they could perform this badly if they had got a glimpse into the future of what Nigeria would become with them attaining federal power.

I’m tempted to mention some names that found everything wrong with every policy back then (pre-1915 elections) and this includes people from all tribes in case you think this is about taking sides. Same scenario is playing out even as we speak now.

Nigerians have not been smart enough to put people of vision and strong character at the top of things. Parochial and self serving considerations have been the chief permutations consistently pre and post independence.

And once the foundation of any policy, decision or action is faulty, no additional enemies are needed for its failure. This is because the people and the stakeholders will continue to work at cross purposes!

It's mainly government help and monopoly that led to him being a dollar billionaire. It's not entirely his business drive, although it's an essential ingredient of any successful business. Some people have better business drive that he, but government monopoly and harsh policies killed the business drive.

In case you don't know, Federal Governments help to Dangote hurt Lafarge Cement so much that Lafarge could not make profit for years and got sold and bought by several foreign investors for the past few decades.


FG will grant Dangote monopoly and tax waivers and even forex waivers to import cement cheaper and he will bring it in and slash the price of cement to half the price Lafarge is selling, thereby forcing Lafarge to slash price to remain in business and also sack staffs and do pay cuts to sustain operations.


If you know what Obasanjo and other Federal Government of Nigeria did for Dangote, you will be shocked.
