Collinto001:

And what would have happened if they claimed the money was not found in America after 22 years. If it was the other way round would Nigeria have claimed to see the money?

Your logic is supporting someone keeping a stolen property. Nice one.

The US govt did not approach the Nigerian govt and inform them of the loot. These monies where found by detectives working for years to track them down. The US govt and the US private banks would have kept the money if they were not traced and exposed to the world.
In the US, if you receive stolen goods, you are just as guilty as the thief - same logic should apply here.

Nigeria has been behaving like a child.
So a grown up (USA) needed to moderate its actions.

Mr. Sagay or whatever you called yourself. It is more insulting for you to insult America for cautioning our leaders for gross mismanagement of our wealth. Are Nigerian leaders ever responsible?

I don't blame the U.S justice department on its stand,I want to believe it was part of the deal both parties signed considering the monumental in-depth endemic corruption in that has been witnessed in Nigeria overtime. It will only be expedient to see that the money is used judiciously for the agreed projects. So Sagay should relax,he cannot be more patriotic than most Nigerians who are in agreement with this decision.

its very scary to note that the youths in this country dont read anymore. They only react to headlines. If you actually read the whole articule, you will find out that Prof. was in the support of the US and even against the evil people in this nation.

Our youths should try to read b4 they rain insults on people

Mysticwebb:
I can feel your pain Mr Sagay, I'm sure you might have calculated how much that will get to you during the relooting before you realise that there was a condition attached to the money.
Thieves.

shut up!, it's more embarrassing that your dullard boss should be interested in the money in the first place having shamelessly claimed that Abacha was a fake saint like himself.
