Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state on Wednesday said the 19 Northern governors in the country have collectively agreed on putting an end to the Almajiri system in the country and are ready to face anyone who dares to stand on their path in realising this objective.

When did 12 Northern state become 19? Almajiri is an education system based in the 12 Islamic states in Northern Nigeria and exported to the Middle-Belt and South-West. I am pleased that they have come to accept that it is a failed education system and must be immediately eradicated and replace with modern education.
