If i create a thread and pull data correlating increased use of mosquito net as a safe measure against sickness from malaria in Yoruba states, Ibos will read it and immediately start combing internet for his own data to compete against the subject line.

All he will find supports the logical position presented by Yoruba, but he will pick one nonetheless and begin to modify and alter the numbers to support his opposition.

He will return to the thread armed with the altered data and boast that Ibos of SE are better carriers of the malaria virus than Yoruba cowards.

He will accuse Yoruba of cowardice in their wisdom to use mosquito nets.

His intent is to prove that bravery is the act of sleeping bare and feeding blood to mosquitoes, and is what Ibos do. Ibo will rather endure malaria than sleep under mosquito net and be viewed as coward.

In fact he might boast that as far back in 1966 Ojukwu knew and warned against use of mosquito net by Biafrans, the most fearless people in Africa. .

At the end of the day he will loose the argument to superiority of data and statistical evidence but still relying on his village hearsay and falsified data he will remain adamant that Ibo have superior endurance and will forgo use of mosquito net entirely, a competitive advantage over the fearful Yoruba.

The subject was relationship and safety of mosquito nets in reducing mosquito bites and sickness from malaria in Yoruba states but our brother from SE hijacked and turned it into preference for mosquito bites and bravery of an Iboman to endure malaria fever.

Instead of mosquito net and malaria use a different topic such as the relationship between local market and fair redistribution of wealth. Ibo will come up with his own scenario and himself the most wealthy in any market, local or abroad.

Open thread about airport operations and their insolvency....Ibo will present his own data questioning the sustainability of airports elsewhere outside SE and how if it wasn't for him, the most visible migrant worker, airports generally would run at a loss.

It is futile effort when a son tries to compete and outsmart his own father.....an underdog struggling to displace the Alpha dog!

Yoruba is an Alpha dog in Nigeria.

Yoruba is an Alpha dog in Nigeria.

OP,
Your presentation is rushed and missed cogent points but it is understandable and hit on very fundamental issue we Yorubas must contend with in the Nigerian politicalsphere. Without doubt Yoruba is the ALPHA DOG of Nigeria in any context of social value and advancement metrics. The burden we carry is that of civilized leadership and tolerance. Ibo cannot measure against us in any area of civilization, past, current or future. Their struggle, as you call it, is a fair attempt to rise up to our level and have for themselves what they see in us. This is why Lagos remains their quagmire because they wish to possess it. It is also why they covet our cities in hinterland - Ibadan, Akure, Abeokuta, Ekiti, Oshogbo, Ilorin, Lokoja. Their aspiration is not just focused on Lagos, they are not happy that every city of Yoruba is a land of prosperous opportunity and wealth. They covet it. Remember, it is fair that they should wish to have what we have. It is no more than an ambition. We should treat their aspiration with understanding, and Im glad you used the position of father and son to illustrate. A father does not hate his son for aspiring to attain his fame and wealth, he encourages and teaches. Thats what we must do for Ibo, encourage them and teach them how to rise and be great like the ALPHA YORUBA.

It is either this tribalists/racists are poor and frustrated or timid locals who never got exposure outside the enclave. I can't never believe that an educated/civilised person can be deeply immensed in tribal hate as this op.
Please note that attending any Nigerian University does not necessarily mean one is educated.
