What have churches got to do with the virus. When you have a cold do u go to church to be prayed for or u keep yourself warm? The virus targets based on life style.

If this is true, that the LASG actually is conducting a lockdown vote on twitter, then it means the current LASG is the most stupid and critically insane government in the history of Lagos and in the whole Nigeria. For a start, how many blue-blood lagosians are on twitter, and how many lagos residents are on twitter? Twitter that is full of the most crazy psychopathic mentally-challenged frustrated 15yrs - under 30yrs youths in this country, children that don't have sense at all, that don't know anything other than to be doing useless challenge upandan, showing nudes, and posting stupid memes 24/7, concocting fake lies to trend, and creating the dumbest hashtags the world has ever seen, so this is the kind of audience that the LASG wants to base and put in their hands a critical State decision that will affect about 30 million people and more? What kind of madness is that? Mehn, this current LASG just dey fall hand all the time, One moment they perform a good initiative worthy of applause, the next moment they summersault and come up with the dumbest policies. It's almost as if lagos is like a car being driven by a drunk driver. Tueeehhhh! undecided
those votes should not be taking seriously. If they want to conduct a more valid vote. People should text yes or no from their handset to a number and voting should be digital live for everybody to see. At least 80% of lagosians have a phone

Salary earners who have not lost their jobs yet, single people who work online, essential workers, etc, will vote yes. Most others would vote no.

A lockdown is the most brainless way to fight the Coronavirus. Our leaders need to use their wits and imagination to figure out better, smarter ways.

We cannot afford to wreck the economy by locking it down. If we wreck the economy then where will we get the money needed to fight the virus?

Yet, we cannot afford to allow lots of people to get sick and be killed by the virus. The fear of being infected is enough to wreck the economy.

The only way forward is to use face-masks and enforce science-based infection minimization rules to protect lives and also protect the economy.

It is crucial to understand that, as a poor country with a large population, we don’t have the luxury of choosing between saving lives and saving the economy. We must get people back to work, and we must keep them safe.

You have spoken the truth sir. It's just that the old and new reality is that our govt is brainless and useless.

Here's the problem. Everything that needs to be done to fight the virus costs money. Test-kits, laboratories, PCR machines, and reagents cost money.
If we let the economy crash, we won't be able to afford those things, and the deaths we're trying to avoid will still happen due to lack of funds.

Yes, money money money is needed... We sold oil for about 60 years in this country. The fools that called themselves politicians should cough out money to be spent for palliative, they should be able to sustain their citizens for few months and not go gaga after just 3-4weeks of lockdown... Even the palliative they are sharing is audio.

Can anybody tell me that the lockdown did control the spread of the virus?
What impart has the lockdown contributed to the system. Instead the more the lockdown the more the figures increasing like ijebu garri without seeing the persons who are infected or died

You are damn funny, Did you just say use facemasks? Don't you go out on the streets to see how non compliant Lagosians are? A lot of people do not value their lives thereby putting the lives of those who value their lives at risk!
Enforcing face-masks is easy. When people leave the house, there are places they want to go. Markets, stores, offices, motor-parks, public transport, banks, atm kiosks, etc. Govt can simply instruct the people running those places to deny access to people not wearing face-masks.

The only language Nigerians understand is "Force" we gotta learn the hard way , we have sworn to be defiant and non compliant then we have to be locked up once again so as to protect those who are vulnerable from getting infected!
That's lazy governance. If some people are not compliant with the rules, advice them, assist them, and arrest them if they still don't cooperate. Under no circumstance should a government punish the innocent along with the guilty. People following precautions must be allowed to work.

Lock down is not the solution. It is a fact that lock down alone does not work. All they need to do is to build structures that will enforce social distancing etc. How many hand sanitizing stations did they build? How many face masks or shields did they distribute? Are they making sure that companies that are open ( banks)are complying with the safety regulations?

Not these kinds of people we have here.
They can't simply organise or get anything right.
How will such a confused, confusing bunch of leaders do the "magic".
Everything is left to luck and chance.
Of course, no lock-down is the way to go.

1. if we allow the virus to ravage our population we start to lose a big part of the working population which are the driving force of this economy which you want to save.

2. if people are dropping dead on the street in large numbers do you think people will still go to work, do you think its because of excessive force in Italy that's making people stay indoor or the fear of there lives.

3. this is a new virus that has no cure or vaccine, and we just getting to know how deadly it is.

don't you think trying to reduce its spread as much as possible is a wise decision?

Why the insults, are you really so bad at getting your point across like a reasonable adult?

I am simply explaining a reality you are trying to ignore, most of the people on the streets aren't following these rules, your insults won't change that.

If you fall victim don't complain, don't cry to the government don't cry to God, that's all I will say.
so the lockdown will make them follow d rules

I said it weeks ago and still say it. Corona is bound to spread and isn't worth the self-induced economic blackout our ancestral leader are putting us through. Most of these old men know they are more vulnerable and cannot even think out of the box let alone adapt a copied concept to their nation's peculiarity. Planting season is being jeopardized and I wonder if we will food koan when harvest comes also. We haven't made any real effort to mass produce the simplest of PPEs.

Seun Had Been Supporting The Lockdown Earlier But Now I Can See That He Now sees Things Like The Very Few Wise Men.
