Na aboki still dey head the agency..... they have all place themselves at the head of all the agencies, reason the country is stuck because most of them lack the capacity to lead, even the qualifications sef dem go present one year diploma certificate. 2 Likes |

Nigeria with its fake experts in all fields. Toxic Waste discharge hardly affects the oceans, its effects are felt more in small water bodies like lakes & rivers. Thats how something exploded in the West recently, dug a mighty crater on the road & destroyed many buildings, witnesses said it was a truck carrying explosives, but our Experts came & told us it was a shooting star from space.. Up till now, we don't know the truth. 2 Likes |

Nosdra or whatever they call themselves are talking nonsense. That was how they couldn't do nothing when black soots almost snuff the living daylight out of Port Harcourt people. What killed those fishes are toxic wastes from one of those oil companies operating in that area. |

Yankee101:How will they have enough personnel when corruption is in the system? To get enlisted you must bribe your way through or know one Oga at the top, if not nothing for you.

This is another useless agency that must be scrapped. You don't need a complete agency to monitor oil spills. 1 Like |

They looked at chemical pollutants only, what if it was a biological agent that killed those fishes? It could be bacteria or virus infections that killed those fishes since only one species of fish is involved |

bilulu: As in eh. If you know the budget of this useless and unproductive agency, you go shout. All the lucrative agencies, one abokki or the other is in charge. It's so annoying. |

Gracealone: You need to see the huge salaries and allowances allocated to this agency's useless staff who do nothing but sit idly, play games or watch porn on their phones, and peddle gossip all day. All of whom were employed via corrupt nepotism as usual. No surprises it is headed by yet another 'Musa'. Nigeria's problems are hydra headed and the country cannot be salvaged. |

kuss: Gbamsolutely, so much bribe has been taken by these guys to exonerate oil companies. And they also know that most Nigerians are educated illiterates and as such they won't be able to reason beyond the cooked report. |

Yet another government agency that shouldn't even be in existence. NIOMR is sufficient for such duties All these mushroom institutions are created to provide government jobs for northerners, yet our politicians keep moaning about insufficient money to fund budget while they keep flushing resources down the drain. Idris Musa will move around in five vehicle convoys with six or seven police escorts, fly business class around the world all the while doing nothing and adding zero value How can Nigeria make progress this way? how? |

I can say this is the most confused director General I've seen. How can you debunk the statement that this large number of death is not majorly from industrial waste. 1st you need to advice the govt to implement strict policies for industries in disposing their waste safely. Secondly you need to carry out in depth investigations and learn from the people that are primarily affected by this. |
Re: NOSDRA: Why Dead Fishes Were Found On Niger Delta Coastline by farady(m): 8:58am On May 15, 2020 |
risos: Hmmm. Your comments therefore infers that Oil Companies have influenced this NOSDRA's report. Indeed produced water mostly comes from crude oil platforms/facilities. So one would have expected NOSDRA trace the source of these toxic metals and include this in its report. |
Re: NOSDRA: Why Dead Fishes Were Found On Niger Delta Coastline by andyanders: 9:33am On May 15, 2020 |
kuss:On point. The pollution couldn't have come from elsewhere than the oil companies. They know the implication if indited by the report. Those who carried the investigation are also Nigerians and must have been sorted out. |

The truth is that Nigeria's punitive measures on environmental waste needs to be reviewed. Honestly, even if they discovered that this has been done by one multinational giant, they would do absolutely NOTHING! |

CzarChris: Beautiful, why only one specie of fish? Are they telling us other species are allegic to these so called heavy metals.this is just a damage control report, meant to make everyone look the oda way while the cause is elsewhere. My problem is, must we wait for federal agencies to lie to us, can't state government setup research lab specifically for such purposes? As long as we continue to wait for a government that loves money and material wealth more than the life of her citizens then we will always get damage control reports like these. 2 Likes |
