It's a cure for malaria because it contains the plant athemisia used in making ACT anti-malaria drugs. |

babyfaceafrica:There's no propaganda against Madagascar. It was Madagascar that claimed the concoction is a cure. Do you know what it means to say something is an outright cure ?. Without large scale testing?. They only asked them to pass it through formal testing and discouraged people from self medication- which is s no brainer because given the chance some folks will overdose on it. Vietnam has more cases than Madagascar with no single death. So also central African republic and island of Réunion. Why haven't they pushed forward one concoction and claimed it's a cure? Remdesivir has been tested in the USA on over 2000 patients and found to have lowered mortality by 30 percent. Still, Fauci never came out to claim Eureka!! We've found a cure! 4 Likes |

GamalNasser: Vietnam, Réunion and Central African Republic have more impressive stats with no single deaths as well. Qatar had almost a thousand cases before they recorded their first death. Did They push forward any magical potion they Used?. The virus affects countries differently due to many factors including genetics, weather, environment, etc. It's still being studied. 2 Likes |

GamalNasser:Thats not how clinical trials are done. Start with animal trials, in-vitro then move to humans using standard experimental protocols that will allow us compare the results with other drugs and placebos. Identify and isolate the active compound in the herb then present a mechanism of actions by which the therapeutic effect work. Do toxicity test on both mice and humans to ascertain the exact dosage of the drug. Document properly the side effects of the drug and be sure that we don’t treat COVID19 and then later cause any other ailment. That’s how it works, no sane scientifically literate person or organization including WHO will take them serious if all these are not met. This is not gbogbonise business 2 Likes |

If tested in Africa by Africans, WHO will say: "This herbal drink is not proven to be a cure" If tested in Europe by white people, WHO will say: "This herbal drink is the most effective cure in the world" It is obvious that WHO is trying to fool you |

rhames:We won’t condemn it if it passes all scientific standards of drug approval. Global drug approval is not done by emotions, it’s done by bending down to work and meeting all required standard as to how a drug carries out it’s therapeutic effect. It’s not by playing emotional game 3 Likes |

Greenbirth: Trial and error has no place here. I'm not criticizing the drug, but clinical trial is essential before a drug can be certified for a whole world to use. This is not a case of ur family member is sick and u want to try one agbo on him. We are talking about the whole country here and the whole world too. U can't just recommend something without a clinical trial for people to ingest into their system, it doesn't work like that. It is not criticism, it's not the fact that it came from Africa (if it came from the US or China the same approach would be taken). Problem with us here is we just so much believe in miracles mixture. This is why an unknown woman would be Hawking some herbal mixtures and people will buy and gulp into their system without even asking or knowing what kind of mixture they just drank. Once they say it's agbo iba, agbo Jedi, opa eyin, guys will just swallow without even knowing what was mixed. In case u don't know, US biotech firm Moderna have reported progress in finding a vaccine for the virus. They are currently in phase one of clinical test and results have been positive. But the drugs cannot be certified yet until they go through all necessary clinical tests phases. That is the way it works before u can certify a drug for the whole world to use. Now just imagine if that company is from Africa, after just the first phase of clinical trial yield positive results, u all would be shouting they should approve it that there is no harm in trying. |

babyfaceafrica: What's now the point in being a WHO member state if you do not want to follow the WHO process? Madagascar is not the only country working on a possible vaccine, other countries, including the ones you mentioned are following the basic process. Some of them like Canada, US, UK, etc are already in the clinical trial stage. Meanwhile, Madagascar is already shipping what they believe would work. Now, they're leaving the WHO umbrella cause of it. If we keep behaving like an angry last born all the time, they'll keep patting us on the back like babies. 3 Likes |

AuntRose:Can't u see that US and Germany companies are partnering together and researching the effectiveness of the herbs, this is what Africa countries should be doing. can't u see that WHO has giving the go ahead for the herbs to be research first. Do u expect WHO to just agree with Madagascar that the herbs is a cure without any research? |
Re: ANALYSIS: Is The Madagascan Herbal Drink A Cure For Malaria Or Coronavirus? by Nobody: 7:41pm On May 19, 2020 |
Nairalandmonika: Leave them. What do u expect from a country where people will drink anything in a bottle so far is it bitter. Just package anything and give it a name, just make sure the word 'bitters' appear on the name. Then u will cash out. |

babyfaceafrica:What Madagascar did is very wrong, remember Oxford university is testing a vaccine currently in UK. Did UK govt come out to say they have coronavirus vaccine. Madagascar should have simply carry out a proper research, maybe ask other African countries to Join them in the research. It's only when such medicine has been proven to be effective b4 hyping it as a cure. |

OgogoroFreak: Keep fooling yourself even and be waiting for remsidivir that has has a 70 percent failure rate or a vaccine with a fatal margin of error of 15%. ..it's not someone like me you can fools with these misleading WHO jargons ..I know what Covid is , I know it's not a respiratory virus as we have been mislead to believe but a Virus that alters the viscosity of the blood and by now I understand what it's treatment protocol should look like .. |

AuntRose: So what if I told you I successfully cured 20 persons with my mixture bambala nuts mixed with beniseed, I'm you'll have no problem believing that, abi? Pls NOTE: WHO DOES NOT CERTIFY ANY DRUG!!! GET THAT RIGHT. Certification is SOLELY the responsibility of regulatory agencies, NAFDAC, FDA, etc. What WHO does is to look for available EVIDENCE, and provide recommendation based on that. And thats the problem: THERE IS NO SUCH EVIDENCE, other than stories. . 1 Like |

Re: ANALYSIS: Is The Madagascan Herbal Drink A Cure For Malaria Or Coronavirus? by Nairalandmonika: 7:55pm On May 19, 2020 |
babyfaceafrica:They didn't carry out any research, the herbs has been known to cure malaria and flu b4, because most people say coronavirus is like the flu they just assumed it to be effective against coronavirus. The day the president release this herb as a cure, he said it has been tested on only two persons. It has been tested on only two persons and he was already calling it a cure. There are other countries with better recovery rate than Madagascar, below is Vietnam coronavirus stat, it's way better than Madagascar, they did not come out to say they have any cure.

sucess001: But if they steal the idea, it would be as a result of our own foolishness. An educated mind mind knows that a due process would gain us patent rights but we are allowing emotions to control our actions in a world were pen has proven to be more powerful than guns. Artemisen didn't originate from Africa. It came from Asia and it has always worked against malaria from day one. And like you said, it could be a cure against the virus. But we won't make any headway if we keep approaching things in a crude way. Other countries subject their findings to scientific research/principles and report progress from time to time. Canada, UK, US all have companies that are in the clinical trial stage. These guys can easily present thier research papers for each stage. Scientific research process is the same everywhere. But we're already shipping out our drink around. We shouldn't complain when our ideas are stolen |
