In fact the Asian tigers have what you called useless currencies when compared with the dollar.

But it is deliberate.

Industrialisation is high, imports are almost non existent, and Standard of living is high.
they are not "useless"

That is just a denomination issue.

There is no obsession.

The exchange rate is not the issue that is just a number but the rate at which it changes
Too rapid change or instability deters investors in the real sector because they cannot plan.

Also it means imported inflationary our manufacturing is next to zero.

If we had substantial industrial capacity like those countries you mentioned it would be different
But the FG is not focusing on the fundamentals.

They are spending billions of dollars defending the currency.

Billions that should have gone into Elecyricity, infrastructure.

Let the naira crash, any company that want to go should go, pour the billions of dollars into the fundamentals.

Those companies will come back in time and we will have a real economy.

It is not useless of course ,at least in South Korea.

But based on the definition of the illiterate Nigerian business man, it is useless currency.

Actually it is a misrepresentation to say they "spend " to defend.
Naira is a CBN debt and when the CBN sell dollars in exchange for naira It is redeeming its debts.
Those dollars are not government money to spend on anything

I don't know what you mean by let the Naira crash .That is irresponsible.

The naira should trade at realistic rates and if overvalued should adjust but adjustments should not be abrupt.

Economics is not physics or Mathematics.
There are always emotions involved.

Confidence is important and the fundamental, the real fundamental is our appetite for imported goods must be curbed.

We need to introduce smart protectionism and stop being naive about so called free trade.

There is nothing like that anywhere

Bond means a means of borrowing money and giving the lenders guaranteed intrest after limited time,

the Article says investors interested in our bond market (better said people willing to borrow us money) are rushing Nigeria because they know 2020 would be the year we would have the highest deficit (deficit meaning we not being able to finance our budget or meet up with recurrent and capital expenditure while) while 98% of our income would go to service existing loan after oil price dropped our earnings

So in laymans term, loan sharks and international gbomulalantern are trooping to Nigeria because they know without Oil we would be forced to borrow money from them or die of hunger

.

Why can't Venezuela issue bonds that would be half subscribed if it's so simple?

...And by borrowing massively (which our moronic leaders will do), they will lay claim to the best of the nation in years to come!!!

Bottom line, this nation is ripe for the taking!!!...

It's just like a football club going bankrupt, hence begging a wealthy business man to take it over.

Thanks for clarifying for those too dimwitted to comprehend.
Re: Investors Rush To Nigeria - Bloomberg by profmallor: 3:18pm On May 21, 2020
More suffering for Nigerians in 2020, as Government would over tax everyone to make up for the deficit in the budget from oil prices, Hike in prices of all commodities as the Naira falls further to the dollars. Once the IMF smiles at you, more hardship is on the way. Mechanized Agriculture is the way out

Fact, is not every country can issue government bonds that would be fully subscribed.

Venezuela is a good example.

It's like big boys calling on one another that it's party time and everyone should come with his or her knife and fork. Party is happening in Nigeria. The West are tricksters. They know how to fiddle with global issues and use it to milk poor nations or countries with stupid and corrupt politicians. I remember Y2K before the end of last millennium. Even this pandemic, they are behind it. Some of them are laughing to the banks.
