We only have to ensure contentment with what he have and make the best of it. We can't go bothering if there are better people out there, because trust me and reality, there/they are.

But if believing in these fantasies make us feel good about ourselves, our spouses and feeds our self esteem, then why not. It makes us all a happy society.
