tutudesz: Don't mind them! Upon their size we can measure up with them. The first SAN is Ijaw, Nabo Graham-Douglas. Himself and Rotimi Williams became SAN on the same day. One of the most respected judges to hail from Nigeria on the international scene was also Ijaw. Justice Karibi-Whyte. The first African to be UN under secretary general was also Ijaw. The first investment bank in Nigeria was established by an Ijaw man. The list is endless! Today, because of Nigeria they can open their mouth and talk, I don't blame them, I blame this British contraption. |

Lol. I checked this thread earlier today but felt it was just a banter of some people who wants to while away their time. I guess the OP hasn't learnt anything yet. In a bid to insult Igbos, you ended up giving them credit. The video showed the people asking for forgiveness against their own brothers they killed for working with other Biafran soldiers to evacuate them from the would be front lines. Biafran soldiers tried to save the people by such evacuation. I wonder how you the OP do reason. As for the other attacks and dick measurement you wish to do with Igbos, I'll advice you back off. There's no comparison whatsoever. I specifically don't like competition within because it tends to make us as a whole unit vulnerable. Igbo's have their strength and weaknesses, so also are the Ijaws. The least time such foolish arguments should be done is now. Nigeria is at war and sensible people know that closing ranks for our own survival is the best. This is why I didn't want to engage in the thread all these time. Finally, with regards to Biafra, no group will be forced to join. Those who are not interested will be left alone. They in turn shouldn't turn around to seek any portion of Igboland they see around them. It's quite painful that common sense can't prevail among some of us in the old eastern region. I know the pain of the OP but he must learn that the times have changed and he must face the present as it is. That the coastal towns grew in wealth through profits they made from mainly products from the hinterland and that the Europeans later bypassed them to go upstream and trade directly with the original producers shouldn't make your hate those in the hinterland. This I have gathered became the major cause of this bitter acrimony. Those days of being middle men have gone forever. That our fathers allowed some of your people to even occupy those coastal place without bringing war to them should be commended. All in all, let's respect ourselves and think of the future by making proper decisions today. It's not by accident that both Bonny and Opobo became the most important of all the coastal towns of their time. It was because of the synergy of both the Igbos and Ijaws. Enough said! 1 Like |

NwaAro: We are not talking about baby factory, international drug peddling, advance fee fraud. This is not about Invictus. We are talking about seasoned professionals, trailblazers in their chosen professions. Not Instagram celebrities! The list is not exhaustive, I talked about people Igbo nation can never replicate their achievements. How do you become the first SAN when there have already been thousands since then? How do you replicate the 1st investment bank or the 1st to have an indigenous cinema chain or shipping company? |

PHijo:Bros I'm yet to see any trailblazers in your useless list... hardly anybody outside of Nigeria has heard about those names. J P Clark definitely is up there in the literature world of icons...but he can't lace the shoes of Igbo greats like Cyprian Ekwensi, Flora Nwakpa, Christopher Okigbo, and other contemporary icons that graced the world of literature and arts from the East. Let me make it easy for you by mentioning JUST ONE NAME. Which Ijaw personality dead or alive can measure up to Chinua Achebe... that's just one name oooo, mention that Ijaw icon that commands the same global panache as Achebe. I won't even bother myself with a list of Igbo achievers, your pathetic fisherman brains will run away from this thread. 1 Like |

Allen102:Posting two wedding videos doesn't prove anything dude, the percentage of Igbo women that marry Ijaw men is well below 15%. Ijaw men are bottom feeders, asides from militancy and laziness your men are known for absolutely nothing noteworthy enough to place you on any desirable index even to goats. 2 Likes |

NwaAro: Achebe was referred for displaying the primitive aspects of Igbo culture. If you even mentioned Cyprian Ekwensi I would have taken you serious. We had writers like J.P. Clark and Ola Rotimi. I talked about those shaped/created Nigeria's legal profession and her banking industry. If you could not appreciate the meaning of the word first or if you couldn't understand the meaning how did you want to appreciate quality literature? Literary experts do not refer to Achebe while discussing African literature because he did not follow the rules of writing African literature neither did he adhere to the rules of English prose. There is a reason rap and poetry isn't the same. Even though you shifted the post, Igbo people do not have an exceptional writer of African literature dead or alive. The closet to that was Cyprian Ekwensi. I am not surprised you avoided the legal and banking profession. Not even your beloved father, Nnamdi Azikiwe could escape the tutelage of Ijaw people. Igbos are fond of burning bridges people let them cross or bite the fingers that feed them. 1 Like |

NwaAro: A tribe named after narcotics like the Igbo have nothing to offer! That's why you can't understand the impact of such institutions. Trying to let an Igbo understand the real economy is like a monkey choosing banana over money that can over the monkey variety. You can carry your brash noise where they don't know you. We can't be impressed. |

PHijo: This post is filled with ignorance and jealousy. Ijaw is a very little group with a minute recognition in Niger Delta. The northerners doesn't even know you existed until militancy. There is nothing significant about Ijaw, honestly. These comparisons of Ijaw to Igbo is simply unfair because you can't measure up to little Obosi or Onicha before we bring the Igbo nation. For instance, two Igbos has won African footballer of the Year for men , an Igbo woman won the female category like five times. An Igbo woman won the first Olympic gold medal, an Igbo man won't the first African gold medal in common wealth games. Where do I even start...look at Hollywood , Nollywood , Music industry , Academics etc. It's an insult to compare Igbo to Ijaw....an insult. The most respected African writers are mostly Igbos. Smh. Go drink kaikai , abeg 3 Likes |

A thread of over 7months, someone still dug it up to start on a fresh note. They go about disgracing themselves but will rush to tell you people hate Igbos. What is even there to measure between Igbos and Ijaw? Sometimes if you x-ray most of the commenters you will realise they are not from your Political state but always arrive in the name of Igbo defence. Allow the fools to continue in their tomfoolery. The issue threads like this grows is because most of us don't Ignore them.
