Bro, when I see these small things, the reason why I appreciate them is that the person understands the principles behind the machine. You are right, the design is poor but the principles are more important. That's why if you want to work as a Software Engineer with a company like Google/Facebook, you will be tested more on Algorithms, not on building applications.
