Alcohol And Gambling (Islam Vs Christianity) by AntiChristian: 12:31pm On Jun 10, 2020
The Islamic stance on alcohol is clear. It is forbidden! At the start of Islam Alcohol was permitted and was later forbidden.
And Alcohol and Gambling were forbidden in the same verse.

O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone altars [to other than Allah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful.
Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist?
Surat 5:90-91

Christian views on alcohol are varied. Three views exists in Christianity viz: moderationism, abstentionism and prohibitionism.
Moderationism simply means being moderate in drinking.
Absentionism refers to the notion that not imbibing was wisest at the moment.
Prohibitionism means drinking alcohol is a sin.

For the first 1,800 years of Christianity, taking alcoholic beverages was normal. It was during the mid 19th century that the Protestants moved from moderationism to Absentionism and Prohibitionism.

However, It is proven that the first miracle of Jesus was to turn water in to wine. And the context shows it was an alcoholic wine that is capable of making people drunk.

John 2:1-10
On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2and Jesus and His disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to Him, “They have no more wine.”......Now six stone water jars had been set there for the Jewish rites of purification. Each could hold from twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” So they filled them to the brim.
Now draw some out,” He said, “and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so. and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not know where it was from, but the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, “Everyone serves the fine wine first, and then the cheap wine after the guests are drunk. But you have saved the fine wine until now!”

The word translated as "drunk" above is Methysthōsin in Greek which means to be intoxicated with wine, be drunk. From another form of methe; to drink to intoxication, i.e. Get drunk.

Other verses on Alcohol from Paul:
1. “Stop drinking only water and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent ailments”—1 Timothy 5:23
2. “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to reckless indiscretion. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.”—Ephesians 5:18
3. “It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything to cause your brother to stumble.”—Romans 14:21

However there's no concrete prohibition of Gambling in the Bible.

NB Only a foolish person should derail this thread!

The book says but when there is no holy spirit, adherent may never grasp the concept so you'll need to continue forcing them which will later lead to brutality as all Islamic countries are in chaos today! cheesy

Statistics shows that during the month of Ramadan breweries, prostitutes and Baba Ijebu often make lesser gain!

Definitely your Qur'an is like a toothless dog that it's owner is the one biting defaulters instead of the dog! cheesy

Allah said the alcohol he banned on earth will be made available for you in heaven because there's a river of wine in his filthy paradise and Muhammad further explain that sex and sex is what will be taking place in Islamic paradise.

Allah went ahead by saying he will make young boys available for Muslim gays

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala said:

يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدٰنٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ
"There will circulate among them young boys made eternal"

Antichristian, come and see how your foolish god said what he pronounced as Haram on earth will be made halal for you in heaven.

The topic is about Alcohol. Jehovah witness sabi drink na! I saw it on your website jw.org that drinking alcohol is normal and excess is what is frowned at which is moderationism!

So where is the Truth? You claiming Moderationism or other Christians claiming Abstentionism and Prohibitionism?

TRUTH is when you consider the benefits of both as adherents continue living by the standard!

What is the evil in alcoholic beverages that those abstaining from it are safe from it?

and

What is the gain those saying moderacy is the best policy?

That's how to figure out where the truth is, there are religionists who claims that they are obeying the rule "you must not kill" so because of this, they will not even kill mosquito, whereas the mosquito bites them, infected them with malaria and kill them!

So think about the benefits not just what they're saying! smiley
