And a lot of those military rulers were relatively young guys with vision.

That's very correct unlike these old men we have as politicians who are vision less and ready to milk the nation dry. Doing meaningful project is a thug of war.

Why is it taking APC more than 5 year's to complete a road of only 126km?

The job is ongoing and it's a busy road which could cause the delay in constructions due to heavy diverted traffics

Well APC is also Underperforming, but it's way better than non performance. We should be asking what went wrong for 16 years when the Expansion contract was awarded and paid for more than 4 times without any activities on ground. We will never forget even if you young generations are too young and still on milk those period.

Roads especially roads that are being heavily used like this don't last forever.
There's need to repair or sometimes reconstruct them.

RuudVanNisteroy:
NGpatriot are Igbos responsible as well for the 42 year construction?

Why do you always tag every Non-Igbo politician in Nigeria is an evil man who karma always visit?

gartamanta:
Looking at Shehu Yaradua here, one would not know that the man was amongst the biggest mass-murderers and coup plotter Nigeria ever produced. He was literally Murtala Mohammed's right hand man and when Mohammed was assassinated, Yar'adua was double promoted to become a Brigadier and Chief of General Staff. He spent the rest of his years in power amassing wealth and became one of the richest men in the North when he retired. He was CEO of Hamza Holdings. But Karma has a way of coming back to bite all evil men. He died crying of pain in Abakiliki Prisons.

I am not disproving they don't last, it is the fact the repairs have never been completed- despite the billions budgeted year in year out our since it was commissioned in 1978.

No group of people from a reasonable country would elevated Shehu Musa Yar'Adua to a position he occupied by the time he commissioned the road. A relatively junior officer was elevated three ranks and made second in command simply placate section of the country and a particular ethnicity. I simply hate Nigeria with passion. I pray everyday for its disintegration. A dumbass country known for setting wrong precedents.
