First lesson learned after leaving yr mother's house cheesy
you get luck, d eggs for just hatch for yr house... prly bcuz no fertilization took place... cheesy

I've stopped buying crates of eggs, after realizing that I always lose 3 or 4 from it. If u're eating 3 daily, it will last 10 days, & won't be fresh that long....so, I just buy like N200 quantity

Eggs should be stored in crates and in a well ventilated place. What you just don is to kill the life in the egg. Eggs breath too. Throw them away and get crates.

Reference:

Commercial layers produce sterile eggs. They will not hatch.

Mod, please help me move this to front page

I bought this crate of eggs not less than 2 weeks ago and after 5days the eggs started to change and on the 9th day this is the nature of the eggs. Am totally confused but my friend is suggesting that it could be because I covered it, and yesterday I saw the woman that sold to me and complained to her but she was surprised saying the remainder of the eggs is still here and nothing has happened to them.

Please I need answers because I bought a crate to save money.
Have u ever bought eggs before and store like this for a week? That is the answer to your question.

Re: What Could Be The Cause Of These Rotten Eggs, Please? by Monday60655(m): 7:47am On Jun 26, 2020
You can see the moisture dropping as a result of excessive heat. No ventilation to keep the eggs in good condition.

Re: What Could Be The Cause Of These Rotten Eggs, Please? by Nobody: 8:19am On Jun 26, 2020
Unknown to many in Nigeria, eggs have an expiry date. And should be dated but expect not to find this anywhere in Nigeria.

Once an egg is pretty old, they are dangerous to consume and the yoke changes colour.

Plus they are meant to be stored in the fridge. The heat has already destroyed them

I'd suggest you get rid of them
Re: What Could Be The Cause Of These Rotten Eggs, Please? by redsun(m): 8:28am On Jun 26, 2020
Too much hazardous chemical in rearing the chickens can counter react, especially when you don't have regular electricity to keep them well preserved in the fridge.

Nigerian grown food products/livestock at the moment are lethal poisons because there are no set regulations that checks what goes in them.

It's either u leave it open or put it in a refrigerator

The image below works for me

I guess you normally buy in crate, so tell me how long do you store so it doesn't spoil or get expired

You don't have to be a science student to know that eggs breathe.
And one rotten egg could spoil others in the same place.

The advice is wrong you don't store eggs in a refrigerator or in a place where water can touch it.
I have been doing this and they can even stay for two months.

Eggs can last for 6 months if preserved properly. Always keep your eggs in the fridge.
