Mr President Used The Federal Executive Chamber For APC NWC Meeting by chukzbozz86: 11:25pm On Jun 25, 2020
The country witnessed a new low today when Mr President, for the first time since 1999, used the Federal Executive Chamber for APC NWC meeting. Since President Obasanjo, through President Yar'Adua and President Jonathan NO meeting of PDP NWC/NEC ever took place in the Federal Executive Council Chamber. The Party expanded Caucus which meets at the Villa periodically use the First Lady's meeting room or the Banquet Hall.

The government is not an arm of a political party. Once a government is in place it is for all Nigerians and its organs or properties must not be used for partisan purposes.

The holding of APC meeting in the Council Chambers is a clear signal that the government is commingling party and government business and we hope government funds are not being used to partisan end. This government continues to damage our national values

To depict the new low we saw the Attorney General of the federation swearing-in members of APC caretaker committee in the Federal Executive Council Chamber. This is a major affront to the constitutional role of the Attorney General as the Chief Law Officer of the Federation. Is he the National Legal adviser of the APC? On what basis did he conduct the Swearing-in using the council chamber?

His role as Chief Law officer of the nation is damaged and we can no longer trust that his opinion will not be tailored by partisan considerations.

This act may be a step in a plan to foist a one party state on Nigeria through the capture of state institutions for partisan goals.

The Attorney General should take the part of honour NOW.

It's very wrong for the Attorney General to swear in APC NEC...Attorney General is for the nation, but not for APC.

If they tried to use an outside venue, Tinubu and his agents would have messed things up.

First, Nigeria witnessed official delegation from foreign countries(Niger/Mali) to Buhari's campaign rally in Kano in 2019.Now, the government & its AGF were using the council chamber(where matters affecting our national life are deliberated upon) for a political party gathering.

Just imagine how much absurdities and denigrating of our national life and values by the APC.They've so much bastardized our national life that nothing matters to them anymore.Well, the ugly precedence have been set.It will surely come back to hunt them.

I noticed it earlier today but I hoped the picture was a false depiction. Buhari is one of the worst leaders in the world.

All that is to blur the lines between the party and state. I hope that when time comes to defend our democracy against the inept , we fight with our blood.

Many of you should take a chill pill about how you rant out of ignorance. The fact that other Presidents didn't do something doesn't mean it was not in their power to do such maybe only because they never had the need for such at their time of ruling.
Pointing out the AG as being partisan is very wrong because he is answerable to the President at any time. Where is the law that states a President cannot hold a party meeting anywhere he decides to hold it? Where is the law that states the AG should not be in a meeting called by the President because it is a party meeting? Every politician runs to the court of law regardless of party, so do you expect the president to call other common lawyers because it is a party issue when he has the power over the AG be it party issue or not.
There is absolutely nothing wrong in what the President did especially in this current times.
