Its not my business to show you what other governors are doing. Im only interested in commenting where I see fit. Udom has done fine by creating jobs for his people. it is commendable and more preferable to big flyovers and building airport lounges. People need to be employed to live their lives. for all her huge allocations I still consider Akwa Ibom a poor state. Poor in the sense of the livability of her citizens that I see in Lagos and PH and Abuja. Alot of them live in batchers and shacks and it speaks alot about life in Akwa Ibom. If citizens of a state should be outside in such numbers and most living in squabble conditions, then the govt isn't getting priorities right.

I didn't quote you to say he didn't do well, but there is nothing Amazing. good job tho. Why are you even Amazed sef..

It's surprising that you are comparing Akwa Ibom to Lagos, Abuja and PH.
Lagos has been Nigeria's capital city since even before independence. Many investments have been made in Lagos over the past several decades even till today, and that has a lot to do with its former status as the capital city and also it being the commercial capital of Nigeria.
Abuja is Nigeria's capital city and is run with federal funds. Nothing special about it except that it has been a capital city for nearly 30 years. Politicians throw around funds they don't work for.
PH has been the 'capital' of Niger Delta for several decades. Many oil companies in the South South operate from there. It attained its status as a very important Nigerian city ever since the discovery of crude oil.

Akwa Ibom on the other hand had been unknown until the tenure of Akpabio (which started just 13 years ago). Before then, it was basically seen as a poor state. Even Uyo which is the capital city has always had the status of a town until the massive infrastructural development which began in the time of Akpabio. How then would you expect the state to catch up with Lagos or Abuja or Rivers in just a few years?

See this AKWAIBOM illiterate calling someone an illiterate. What's the educational ranking of AKWAIBOM state?

Now back to our discourse. You are referring at AKWAIBOM as a state. I am referring to AKWAIBOM people. They are very poor people despite the huge oil wealth of AKWAIBOM state. Most AKWAIBOM people do the worst form jobs one can imagine. They live in squalor. Most of them in PH live in shanties. You hardly see an AKWAIBOM person living in a good house.

Most of them in Lagos, do house help, okada, truck pusher etc, those are legit jobs but not suitable for a state that waste money building useless airport terminals, FLYOVERS, stadia, hotels etc, because most AKWAIBOM cannot even afford to enjoy all those things.

AKWAIBOM state should focus on human capital development and not continue to build those stuff that an average AKWAIBOM indigene cannot even afford.
hahahaha, see argument. Akwa Ibom State and Akwa Ibom people. There is no argument i won't see on NL.

Who told you that majority of Akwa Ibomites are poor? this is very wrong. if you want to see poverty and shanty houses go to the South east. check poverty in the North, and also consider brown zinc and rusted houses in the West.

You are right about many of those assertions, and the Government of Akwa Ibom over the years have been developing the factories so that the citizens can return home and be gainfully employed, but you can not force a horse to drink water.

When you talk about Human capital development, what are these numerous factories for? What is the Airline for? Sometimes you sound biased and myopic but then again, you might want to be winning an argument or spiting your co-debater without knowing you are sounding ignorant of the very words you put out.

I think any Akwa Ibomite living in shanties and kpakos are doing so because they choose to, not because they do not have another choice. There is a family living my house at Lekki in the worst situation, they live in wooden house over a shanty that smells, but they look gorgeous. I feel no one with a house in a village is supposed to live that way, but then again you can not force them to live better even though the government is doing much homefront to make them feel like relocating. Terrible I must say, but that does not mean that these efforts of the State Government are not in line with the developmental goals of the UN.

So open your eyes and see the good while also criticising the bad.

Personally, I love critics, cos they are like sand paper, they sand others and make them become smooth, while they are trashed at the end of the day.

You are the sand paper, and Akwa Ibomites, God-willing may be the polished woods at the end of the day.

Continue your God-given talent as a sandpaper, and heavens will reward you soon in a refuse bin.
Best Comment of the year... So wanting ooooo

The aspect of the news that exponentially catches my attention is the one that says Akwa Ibom can survive without federal allocation. Competing with Lagos; a fit uncommon considering the monopoly of that states' political actors in terms of making sure they fight to block competitive businesses. But Akwa Ibom against all odds, will soon become the Callifonia of Nigeria.
Amen ooo

Be responsible for once, you can't use the lack and ignorance of Ibomites within ur neighborhood to negate the wonderful works this governor is doing. Think about the multiplier effect of what he is doing and the stage his setting for industrializa. This is what Nigeria needs unfortunately, we have APC government more interested in telling petty lies than facing reality

Most governments in developing countries or countries run by socialists and communists own must corporations in those countries. Also countries such as Nigeria where the funds are shared from the central government tend to own companies rather than create enabling conditions. It is very funny that governors of the states in Nigeria are involved in the payment of civil servant's salaries.

I like Akwa Ibom very much maybe due to my forays while in secondary school. In addition, the seemingly majority, in this case Ibibio, appear not to mind who sits in the government house in Uyo. Unlike Imo State where certain goons will want the occupation of the government house in Owerri and still want all forms of development to start from their area.

Thanks a lot for the enlightening. A big kudos to the completion governor. Couldn't be prouder of both him and the great state.

Pls, don't bother about the distractors with their skewed arguments (trashes rather). They are simply jealous and pained.

Akwa Ibomites may not appreciate this immediately, but they will in the nearest future.

When those investments begin yielding appreciable dividends; when the per capital income of the state populace begin growing; when the internally generated revenue increases....

The governor is working. We are very blessed.

I must also commend the previous governor - Akpabio, he did so well by setting up the infrastructural projects, this gives a good platform for the incumbent to engage in humane/capital projects.
Yes oo... You've said it all bro

Lol... Op you did well, truly the governor is working.. I still don't understand why southern states keep envying themselves... They need to love themselves, hardly will you see a northerner hating another northerner because he is progressing...Even if we divide this country, that same hate will still destroy southerners...
One thing I love about some northerners is that,no matter how much he earn in a day or month or the dirty job he does, he will still appreciate God and move on...
God bless you bro
