tym92: The wedding certificate from the LICENSED CHURCH is as valid as a certificate issued by the court. Typically, a church can only issue a wedding certificate if it is licensed (by government) to do so. A Church that doesn't have that license would request that you bring a wedding certificate from the court. If you get a wedding certificate from a church that is not licensed, the certificate is not on less authentic but it may be invalid. Unfortunately, you wouldn't know until there's an issue. If your church did not send you to post any notice at the local registry or to bring anything from the registry before your wedding, please ask questions to confirm if your wedding certificate is valid. |
