Good morning Nairalanders. My neighbour caught this rare specie of crocodile this morning. I don't want it to end up as pepper soup in someone's pot. Please what can we do to save this beautiful creature? I'm in Lagos (Ajah axis)Anyone with useful information on what we can do should please mention me

Its a Cayman. Just let it go in the same spot the guy caught it, it'll find his way home from same route he came with.

How does someone think of eating such a horrid looking thing? undecided

Nigerians need to learn contentment.

If you don't have meat, eat oku Eko, no oku Eko, eat egg. No egg, eat crayfish.

No crayfish? Think God for life and assurance that you wi have meat tomorrow and work towards it.

Save it for what purpose? I always try to see what is beautiful about reptiles, yet all I feel about them is total disgust.

That's a juvenile Afrcian dwarf crocodile. That reptile specie is categorized as "Vulnerable" under the IUCN Red List. Please, return it back into it's habitat or take it to a pet store or a conservation/wildlife park. Also, you can contact the Ministry of Agriculture if possible. You can also take it to a private zoo. I believe there are people who have mini-zoo in their home.

Do as as much possible to keep that cute baby safe.
