Well done oga Spyder, this building is massive. If you don't mind can you share the square meter of the decking? Over the years, in most of your construction my observation like others, you don't use temporary stairs for your decking like others asked. It's an eye opener, I believe you save money by casting the stairs first to get access to the decking casting. I notice some of these mass project you handle you chain the internal lintel together, though you answer the question in one of the post. Is it really necessary to chain the internal lintel together? That question is really for the structural engineer. Isn't it better to do the decking once rather than twice? (just an observation). Can you educate us more in that aspect.

This first decking is about 268 sqm.

About temporary stairs, its usually done in a site we have difficulty climbing through the main stairs. If we have too many concrete casters and time is of the essence, we use temporary stairs. The cost is not very substantial, the average cost is about N40,000. We save money by making use of the main staircase, but we choose the option that best works for the project.

As for chaining the lintels, its actually a requirement in the structural drawing of most storey buildings, the structural drawings usually specify the use of the lintel before the decking.

It's better to do the decking once if you can afford to, but the nature of work in our country makes this very difficult.

Taking blocks up on the deck, in readiness for block setting for the first floor.

Spyder,
Is it safe to keep or stock the blocks on the deck for about 4 weeks or more before setting without any load imbalance effect on the structure?

As long as your bamboo supports are still under the slab, there is little risk.

What are the likely risk on the structure if the bamboo are already removed and the slab have long cured?

None, if the slab is cured and the supports removed, it should bear the weight of blocks.

Avoid stacking all the blocks on only a section.

Definitely, the loads must be evenly distributed over the areas of the slabs to avoid overloading a section.

If this house is being built at today's building materials costs, about N28m will complete the carcass of this building, while about N25m might complete the finish of the building. Thanks.

Yes some people use tiles, others use marble finish, it will depend on what the client chooses after seeing the options and considering the cost.
