Lagosians Should Expect ‘O To Ge’ Revolution In 2023 – Bode George by nairavsdollars(f): 3:38pm On Jul 28, 2020 |
Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos Chief Olabode George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the year 2023 will be the end of the political dynasty in Lagos that has been holding the citizens hostage since the return of democratic rule in 1999. Speaking in an exclusive interview with INDEPENDENT, George who is the Atona Oodua of Yorubaland said the ‘O to Ge’ Movement that ended the Saraki political dynasty in Kwara state will happen in Lagos in 2023. He particularly singled out Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos and national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) whom he accused of being a stranger but has appropriated all the resources of the state for his use. “By 2023, I will be getting closer to 80. We will invoke the spirit of our forefathers. O to ge! We will do whatever is humanly possible to get those things back to the people. “He (Tinubu) will not sit down in his room and be dictating who will be Speaker, Governor, senators and all that. We will invoke the spirit of the founding fathers, the original people of Lagos against all these greedy people”. George who lamented the suffering of Lagosians, especially civil servants in the state also condemned the outrageous retirement benefits of governors in the state beginning from Tinubu, saying civil servants who served the state government meritoriously for 35 years don’t receive one per cent of what the governors get as retirement benefits. “After appropriating all the resources of Lagos to themselves, when they retire, go and see their retirement benefits. Even civil servants who retire after 35 years don’t get one per cent of what they receive as retirement benefits. “Two big houses in posh areas in Lagos, two big houses in posh areas in Abuja, apart from the number of cars they will be buying and changing for them every year. Common! “If the late Brig.Gen. Mobolaji Johnson had done that if Papa Lateef Jakande did that and all the other governors had done that, what will be left. What is political management in this democratic dispensation? It is the complete management of the resources of that land for the benefit of the people, not for himself or his family. Enough is enough! O To Ge”. “Lagos is like New York, a melting pot and the culture of Lagos people because it is a trading port, we respect people and don’t discriminate. Anybody who brings his wares to Lagos to sell will make the money and we are happy. “Even if you want to land, we give you land to build your house and give you a sense of belonging; but then there must be that modicum of respect for our culture. “Presently, the governor of Lagos, his deputy, the three senators, the Speaker, all the principal officers, Head of Service, the SSG is not Lagosians. It doesn’t happen in any state of this country except Lagos. It is not fair. We’ve had governors in the past who are not Lagosians but they will pay homage to the owners of the land,” he said. https://www.independent.ng/lagosians-should-expect-o-to-ge-revolution-in-2023-bode-george/ 20 Likes 8 Shares

Chief Bode George, a serial loser in the politics of Lagos state has shown to the owners of the Land that he lacks moral and respect for them by handing out through purchase, the tickets of House of representatives, State House of Assembly, and LG chairmanship to people who have lost morals in the search of wealth and holds no connection and ancestral lineage or link traceable to any subgroup, whether Awori, Ijebus, Badagry and others or the Culture of the Yoruba people, at large. He has numerously favoured them with positions of authority without possessing any clout or control over them. These people after getting these buyout, condescend low to attack, disregard and alienate every indigenes of the Land. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on the other hand, has brought together the Yorubas under a long-term political strategy that transcends beyond subdivisions and subgroups while making total reference to the Oba of Lagos and other notable traditional rulers of the state. Let this man not just give himself hypertension because of Tinubu. He can simply decamp to APC and be loyal to Asiwaju! That's simple. Except that, nothing for him in Lagos! He will just continue to wail till tha kindom come! Thank you. 22 Likes 1 Share |

seanfer:When did Lagos become the capital of Yorubaland? Ibadan as far we remember is regional capital of the SW. Lagos is our national commonwealth and would remain so till the end. And moreover, if anyone should decide the fate of Lagos, it is it's indigenes — the likes of Bode George etc, not foreigners from Irabiiji. Tinubu who introduced division and sectarianism in 21st century Lagos will live and see Lagos return back to what it was. 21 Likes 7 Shares |

Why wait till 2023 for o to ge? Why are people wasting their time focusing on Tinubu who is neither a governor, minister, senator, commissioner, LG chairman? Lagosians should know their representatives and hold them accountable. LG chairman, house of rep members both state and federal, commissioners should be receiving serious beating regularly. We should stop listening to useless rumours of Tinubu this and that. Tinubu is not the local govt chairman of iru or amuwo local govt for example. The people living in Lagos should wake up and start to attack their representatives. If you have to go violent, do it..by the time you start holding them by the balls, they will either resign or tell you the reason they are not performing. Tinubu is not in another, Kaduna, Enugu, Anambra, Osun, Oyo and all these states including Lagos are no where near developed. It is the same stealing all over nigeria. Abi na Tinubu dey NDDC? We need to stop chasing shadows and focus. Focus on that person that is holding the position. Focus on that person who should fix roads, hospitals, education at the grass root and state level before running to federal. Tinubu will die like many other politicians and nothing will change. How can you be paying taxes and all kinds of levies and refuse to hold your governor, LG chairman, house of rep members responsible, only to be chanting Tinubu up and down. It is the same thing in other state, you abandon your grass root leaders and be shouting Buhari up and down . 31 Likes 2 Shares |
