Nigeria the only country in the world were you can be caught on tape assaulting a woman and collecting bribes like Kano state governor,Ganduje, and get away with it.

A criminal trial or any trial at all, doesn't always go the way it is laid out or expected, even in the face of supposed damning evidence. This is because there are laid down procedures contained in a law which regulates production of evidence. This law is called the Evidence Act. Now since the news report didn't follow the progress of the trial, we would not be able to tell if the evidence, particularly the video was produced and handed ro rhe court, in line with the Evidence Act. It is very possible that the video evidence was rejected by the court for failing to be introduced in the manner prescribed by the Evidence Act. This may be as a result of lack of competence of the Prosecutor to produce the video evidence as I earlier explained or it may be as a result of a deliberate show of incompetence by the prosecutor to deliberate produce the video evidence in a manner not supported by the Evidence Act. I remember a case of forgery I did for client who was accused of forging a Certificate of occupancy. When the supposedly forged certificate was produced, I raised series of objections and it was rejected. When I cross-examined the supposed victim of the forgery, the case died almost immediately. These are the technicalities that could lead to losing a simple case with glaring evidence.

This is the shadow of things to come. Expect HushDeziani, hushmagu and hushNDDC cabal to be cleared of all allegations.
China should just take over now.

This is a sad end to the story. However, we should not totally hold the judge responsible for this miscarriage of justice. More often than not, the real traversity of justice starts with the prosecution.

All criminal cases are prosecuted by the police and when they are mobilized enough, they scuttle otherwise very good cases. The easiest way of doing this is to present a very weak case, deliberate refusal to call crucial witnesses (like in this case) or an outright selling the complainant out to the defendant.

This happens regularly in our judicial system. May the Lord take control of Nigeria.

The justice she wants is not the kind she can get from the government in this nation, and God gives justice but with forgiveness. The justice she wants only she can give herself, this is the right time for her to strike back.

That is why we always shout it, rape is rape!!! No is no!!! No woman can wrongfully accuse man of rape, we are already too gender inferior and relegated to create scandals. If there was attempted rape the there was attempted rape. If there was rape, there was rape.
No woman can wrongfully accuse a man of rape? Highly fallacious statement. I guess you haven't been following the twitter trends on false rape accusations.

The judge should be sued. Her certificate retracted and she should face the bar. In fact, they should dig up her history, she'd probably have poured hot water on a house maid.

Not really a fan of Chinese but am sure, no matter thier problems they will at least pretend to obey thier laws and deal with criminals as opposed to the judiciary in this country

The guilty shall not go unpunished. If Elisha knows that someone will eventually do him in for the treatment he gave to the woman, he'll keep watching his back, all his life. This is what gave birth to the 'MAFIA'.

At the bolded, what brand of weed are you smoking? Women are humans also and do take advantage of society to make false rape accusations. It's foolishness to assume that every man accused of rape is guilty because by some twisted logic a woman can't lie. That's like the Islamic law where a man's testimony is worth twice that of a woman.

PRIVATE CAMERA OR RECORDING CAN NOT BE TENDERED AS EXHIBIT OR EVIDENCE BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN DOCTORED AND NURSED TO SERVE THAT PURPOSE.
Re: Court Strikes Out Assault Suit Against Senator Abbo by NaMe4: 9:18pm On Jul 31
Instead of ranting and wailing online, I suggest we start a petition seeking redress to this terribly absurd State of our judiciary, using this case as a pilot case.

This case with its recent development will be presented to all relevant organisations and bodies world-wide since we have misfits in our judiciary system.

Government agencies really need to up their legal teams. EFCC, ICPC, Police and many other bodies keep losing cases they clearly should have won. There are also good grounds to believe that prosecution teams do compromise.

In this case, the Judge upheld Abbo's no-case submission and dismissed the suit for lack of diligent prosecution by the police. The police definitely didn't do justice to this case.

There is no room for emotions in law. Judgements are delivered based on evidence/facts presented before the court.
