The cleaners, labourers and yard men will still be collecting their salaries. It's govt Free money. School closed does not mean stop work for everyone, unless that is how the state govt wants it. |

Frankly i cant blame the University. Most schools are like this. Hopefully this whole Corona pandemic comes to an end before the end of the year and everything returns to normalcy. |

SpecialAdviser: There is a reason why we left regions....the minorites were feeling left out of power, and feeling dominated by majority tribes. Hence the tendency to break into smaller units...starting with the Midwest region in 1963. Nigeria is not working because our economy is dependent on how much resources we sell and how we share the money, not on what we can manufacture for export. |

benzion72:The gardeners only seem to cater to the environment around the Vice chancellor's office and that of the registrar. Generally though, this situation is worse in the Second Camp (which is where the pics were taken) than First camp. |

Does it mean the school cannot even maintain the environment for one year just cos they are not in session? I see some people reaping off big time on resumption. |

Typical Nigerian attitude - "If no one is using it, we do not have to maintain it." Gives you an idea of the kind of education this university imparts, if it can leave its environs to decay to this extent, whether or not students are in session. |

kikero: What u don't know is that the manufacturing sector will continue to suffer in an atmosphere of poor leadership enhanced by corrupt and non goal oriented leaders. Regionalism may entrench competition that could finally help us fix the problems of manufacturing sector. For instance, since electricity is still a problem in Nigeria, manufacturing sector can hardly thrive. Besides no research centers to help real man power in the area of manufacturing. Again, concerning minorities, I believe we have learnt our lessons enough. Whoever go about marginalizing the minorities is very blind to the dynamics of the modern world. I don't believe every region will fall to the trap of such mistake. We may have a region embracing all minorities and this may lead to prosperity from which other regions may learn. See, my take is that our present system can hardly be fixed hence the need for a change of system. Do you think Nigerian manufacturing sector can ever get better with this crop of leaders? Nay |
