Ede is a rural area, having university doesn't automatically make it an urban dwelling
A place with over 300km^2, population of over 150 thousand people.

Banks, good roads, lots of schools e.t.c is surely an urban area by Nigerian standard (unless urban means another thing in igboland)

If you can't argue with fact, get the fvck out of my mentions.

Imagine having this (among 3 higher standard institutions and someone from Arochukwu still thinks it's a rural area)

Show me a university as beautiful as this in the whole of igboland.

what does Landmass has to do with urbanisation?
Imagine mentioning the beauty of a university as an evidence of urbanisation undecided

Ede is unarguably a village, but like you said we many have a higher expectation of what should be called an urban area

There is no difference between you and igbochief, igbochief is a famous liar, actually I wouldn't argue with him in the first place, but the lies are too much.. we/I needs to put him in his place... He abandoned his other moniker after being pummeled severally..

The SW outside Lagos region has very low purchasing power. Why do you think they live mostly in dilapidated houses all over their towns and cities?

Lol, I often laugh at their ignorance whenever they talk about landmass like it's the best thing that can happen to anyone.

Congo is many times larger than Rwanda. Iraq is many times larger than Israel. Libya is far larger than Morocco or Tunisia. Mali is far larger than Ghana. Yet they are far behind the countries with smaller landmass in every ramifications.

Even here in Nigeria, Borno is far larger than Imo or Anambra state, yet it lags far behind in any indices of development than the two supposed smaller states. What about Lagos that is the smallest state in Nigeria, yet it is the most productive.

I always wonder why places like Ede, Ogbomosho, Ife, modakeke and so on are still backward in term of development, you can hardly see southwest people show you pictures of these places like how the southeast are doing, these places have been in existence for God knows when but shock to see nothing absolutely nothing to show for, everybody is calming Lagos, this is very shameful

As for the FDI, I think we are not doing badly, information from FAAN says Lagos, Abuja, PH, Owerri, Kano, Enugu, are the busiest airport in the country interns of air traffic and if you check very well PH is 3rd, Owerri is 4th and Enugu is 6th , these three airport are close to each other like 2 or 3hrs yet they outperform other regions, as small as southeast is, they have two airports performing more than order regions with larger land mass, and you say our economy is not doing well because of FDI, no region can beat the southeast in the transport sector because we dominant that sector which is the backbone of commerce, with our transport companies like ABC, Chisco, God is Good, Peace Mass, The Young, Ifysinach, GUO, etc our economy is in our hand and we are going well

Several reasons could be attributed to it, such as;

Abandonment: Yorubas have abandoned every other place in their region and are now focusing their attention on Lagos. Unlike we Igbos that always come home for Christmas and also for other traditional reasons, the Yorubas hardly visit their villages. Their educated and rich class now live in Abuja and Lagos while the poor and uneducated ones now occupy those places. Hence the decay and dilapidation.

Low purchasing power: those left behind have very little disposable income. They live largely from hand to mouth. So can't make any significant change in those towns and rural communities.

They are naturally resistant to change: they often claim that the brown roofs that litter their region is their cultural heritage shocked imagine someone saying that evidence of poverty and wretchedness is their heritage. Those places are likely to remain like that even in the next 2 decades. Some SE cities are already filled with residential highrises and if not for the challenge of electricity, we would have been building blocks of 10 storeys instead of the 4 and 5 storey buildings we are current building.

Lol, you have seen how ugly and dilapidated their state capitals is, yet you want them to show the even more rustic towns like Ogbomosho, Ede, Iwo etc? Have you wondered why non of them ever bothers to take drone pictures of those places? Your guess is as good as mine, they are all eye sore and vomit inducing cry

Yes, SE cities has lots of high-rise buildings unlike your slum settlements that are filled with dingy bungalows.

You must be seeing double, that I opened a thread about SE not attracting foreign investors? Who the fvck needs foreign investors to come and take our money away when we are the investors ourselves?! Our economy is firmly in our hands and the money remains here unlike yours where the Chinese, Indians, Igbos and Lebanese run everything and repatriate proceeds away. Why do you think everywhere else in the SW has remained stunted except Lagos/Ogun axis? No single airport in your entire region except Lagos is functional in the real sense.
