When government is petty. Still scratching my head to find the difference between the architect and the government.

Just because he destroyed fence, you retaliated by destroying his house! And you thereafter call him the only tout in this situation Shuuu shocked

He must have been ignored for too long, or even before airport was built he had told them it was his land and needed compensation

They should identify all his properties in Nigeria (including in his village) and demolish it too. In fact, they should freeze all his accounts. This is when I need the DSS to be at its ugliest and most primitive brute mode. I hear the man has mental problems. Complicate the problem so that he would run naked in the streets and end up under 9th Mile Bridge where he will spend the rest of his days until ritualists harvest his body parts.

Nonsense. I hate self-important and monumentally stupid bastards. You dey demolish airport fence and government property openly as per say you be who? God punish your generation.

Good riddance.

There are better ways to claim ownership of landed property than destroying your government's fence. His bravery is outright foolishness.

Seizing his house would give him hope, but this demolition simply means that he tasted from his own tea.

The poetic justice metted out on him is highly commendable
I'm surprised you didn't note the government is taking laws unit its freshness en hands too.

who then is expected to uphold the law if government become touts and fail to uphold the law that gave them power and authority because of some disgruntled citizens? Isn't that a receipt for anarchy?

Sometimes I think the internet has exposed everyone to base lunacy as exemplified by your reasoning.

Most times when property is recovered they prefare to destroy it. Leaving the property standing and converting to other use gives the former owner hope that someday he could get it back.

I'm fully in support of the demolition of that man's house. Imagine the guts the idiot had in demolishing public property!

His action clearly exemplifies the level of impunity in igboland today whereby some individuals take the law into their hands and act like thin gods just because they have some change in their bank accounts.

That man should be seriously dealt with to serve as deterrent to others.

The man is wrong, but destroying his house seem a bit harsh to me undecided

He could have been fined, C of O on his land revoked, property seized or something else. He may not recover from this sad episode, albeit he brought it upon himself... undecided

His action of destroying govt property is out of it.. There r ways of working things out than taking law into his hands... Destroying his property as well by the govt is not the best way to get him punished

The man forged judgement. He took himself to court and won himself, then took police to court for not enforcing the judgement and got judgement same day. The judge that gave the fake judgement is in big trouble. The man himself is wanted for previous unanswered crimes and for breach of national security.

THIS ACTION BELITTLES GOVERNMENT.

government did not deliberately destroyed his house, rather the house was built on water ways according to the state government, thereby causing obstruction of water flow which might result in flooding thereby endegering people's life and property. ENUGU STATE IS IN THE HAND OF GOD

Smtmes it’s better to give an equally bt opposite reaction to issues. People learn faster and better.

The man was an idiot and the government showed him how idiots are dealt with. Very simple I think.

How does land use act explain the demolishment of his house without a court judgement to that effect ?you are the the kind of illiterates that voted Buhari into power to he can abuse it ....I am sure if your had taken time to read the land use act you will see it makes allowance for compensation and in the effect the the person will not be compensated such a siezure must be ratified and gazzetted by the FEC ...And if you followed the case you will know the man didn't just try to reposess his land lawlessly, he had a court judgement in his favour .

Wow. Goverment getting down and dirty. In America this is usually the job of the CIA.... extra-judicial, black jobs. One sachel charge and the building is back to sand and gravel.

grin Then they will probably freeze his credit cards, tap his phones and rendition him from his palatial country home protected by motion sensing cold cameras, fierce looking guards and alligator filled moats...in the dead of night by commando style helidrop.

Nigeria is a B-rated motion picture of extremely poor directing.

Two wrongs do not make a right.

He has been denied one right.

Section 36(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria details the constitutional right to fair hearing.

In Latin, audi alteram partem and nemo judex causa sua meaning

1. listen to both sides, consider the evidence of both sides, give the accused an opportunity to state his case and

2. someone who has interest in a matter should not seat in judgement over that matter or in other words, there should be no hint or taint of bias in the composition of the panel

The only exceptions to the above are:

1. Government agencies or authorities other than the courts may address issues of law that affect or have a tendency to affect the civil rights and obligations of anyone so long as the person or persons so affected can state their side of the story in advance of a decision being made

2. Government agencies or authorities other than the courts may address issues of law that affect or have a tendency to affect the civil rights and obligations of anyone so long as their decision is not final and conclusive.

He has also been denied another right.

Section 44 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria details the constitutional right to freedom from indiscriminate takeover of movable and immovable property except by lawful means

Without the involvement of the judiciary, destruction such as this is illegal and crude.

If the architect was uncivilized, the government should have shown it stands on higher moral ground by not returning the favor illegally.

Let me illustrate, in June 2018 the FBI became aware that Obinwanne Okeke was committing crimes against Americans, but they refused to rush to take action. They spent one month reviewing the case and only commenced investigations in July 2019, that is one month later.

After they succeeded in establishing a probable case against him, the FBI approached the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in November 2018 some 4 months after the case was reported and 3 months after investigation commenced.

Why did the all powerful FBI approach the courts for a Federal Search Warrant?

In one sentence, it is all about the due process of law.

Until and unless a court order was procured, the demolition is illegal and there will be damages awarded for such an indiscriminate takeover of property.

Which one do we really want? Rule of thugs or rule of law? Food for thought.
Which one was on display here? You be the judge.

Do you know your constitutional rights? if no, don't let this chance pass you by, this video will help.

This is the most stupid thing to do. Demolishing the government’s property, claiming encroachment into your land/property.

The property he claims to have is not his, he is only occupying the land cos the Land Use Act of 1978 has placed all land within a state in the hand of the State Government (apart from the mining site). His Certificate of Occupancy can be withdrawn, revoking his right to the land.

His stupidity can make him lose his property and even go to jail, cos the state government can be compelled by the federal government to revoke his CofO.
It is always good to apply wisdom in all we do. He could have find a way to resolve the issue by demanding for compensation for the land encroached or litigate and resign to fate on any outcome from the court.
How can Fg compare State govt to revoke C of O if state doesn't want to. please enlighten me

2km of fence! That’s 2,000 metres of fence!

I think they need to demolish his house and revoke the ownership of the land and use it for covid isolation centre. They should also charge him to court for vandalism and fine him.

You just contradicted yourself. Did your architect guy allow room for any legal proceeding to tackle the issue? or did he take armed men and a bulldozer to break off about 2km of the fence. And as an irrational human that you are, I am not supprised by you mediocre level of reasoning.

As you can see, many people have already observed and noted that you don't have sense.
