Check for Leakages Bro, if you there is no leakage, then you would need to bring out your radiator and blow it, ensuring that it is not blocked, after doing that, you want to ensure that your water pump is in good condition. If you have done all these and you are still over heating, My brother your engine block has issues. 1 Like |

Bros, my candid advice to you is to sell the car. If your car dey suffer overheating, e go be like say na village people dey follow you. As your temperature gauge dey rise, na so your BP go dey rise. And apart from EOD ball joint, nothing else disgrace person pass overheating. The water no dey boil except for places like 3rd mainland bridge, in front of Mr Biggs, front of your estate entrance gate, near army barrack gate. I had a VW Passat 2004 that had exactly the same problem. It wrecked my economy during that period. I even changed my engine, radiator, and water pump. Yet it persisted. Na so I take sell my fine Passat for 350K. But the peace my 2006 Toyota Corolla (Europe- bank type) gave me afterwards compensated for my months of VW wahala. 1 Like 1 Share |

danilmo: As you said you top water every morning, meaning either your WATERPUMP, radiator, or any of the joining hoses are leaky. Try to ascertain where the leak is from, and fight from there. 2. Check if your radiator is dirty and need to be washed as clogs sometimes block the circulation and it causes overheating too. Also make sure your fan is working properly. |

Re: Help Me Find A Permanent Solution To My Overheating Car by mdchikezie(m): 6:56pm On Aug 16, 2020 |
7pages: Oga MI there's no need for a thermostat as it causes overheat if it's still there. You can ask your mechanic too. Thermostat is for people in the really cold and snowy regions, it's facilitates warm-up immediately an ignition is turned on. You can ask your mechanic or better still ask Google what a Thermostat does in a WATERPUMP. |

weyreypey: This is exactly what it looks like in most Volkswagen models. And it's been removed once a WATERPUMP is bought. It's the cause of overheating if not removed and the Purpose of it is to warm up the engine in the morning in very cold and snowy countries as cars refuse to start when in real cold/snow for a long time.
